Unlike Two Toed Ping, I am indeed a lover of music. The music in the Avatar series is integral and something I value very much. As I look through the Soundtrack of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Soundtrack of The Legend of Korra pages, I see that, though the former does have some contextual information, neither has any music theory-related information. We should be more thorough regarding the information we provide about the music in Avatar. There should be some format, perhaps a small infobox for the embedded videos, which includes information such as time signature, key (including mode), and instrumentation as well as information like in which episode the music appears. If we wanted to get extra geeky, we could add an image of sheet music for a small melody excerpt, though this may be unnecessary. I would be happy to put the info into articles, but I want to make sure it is done in an organized and consensual fashion before doing so hastily.

Note that sometimes key and time signature are not applicable to a piece. The word 'none' might be used in their place.

Some examples (of course, these are not in a very beautiful format, as I am not an expert at code by any means):

Any thoughts? Uiop60 20:18, May 7, 2012 (UTC)

As an encyclopedia covering the empirical data of a specific franchise and it's content, I'd say anything that allows us to be more thorough or concise is no bad thing; I'm all for this, I won't be able to contribute to it really, not being of musical talent or knowledge, but this isn't a bad idea, especially for the talented musician who is an obsessive fan, wanting to learn the series music to minute detail. --DarlingDio (wallcontribs) 02:29, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

I like the idea. I'd suggest "Appearance" be first appearance as a leitmotif can be used in many episodes and also adding the length of the piece so someone can tell if it's a three-second sound cue or a two-minute theme. Like DarlingDio, I'd have to let this be someone else's contribution -- music theory and I have not really crossed paths. DesertDog (wall) 11:30, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
