We have a category for all kinds of bending: Earthbending, Airbending, Firebending, Waterbending. I think that it's time to have a category for Energybenders. We know that the Lion Turtle is an Energybender, and also Avatars are. Tenzin confirmed that it was an Avatar ability. We have an Avatar category, so we already have one more member for the Energybender category than the Avatar category. --AvatarMonarchist 17:43, May 17, 2012 (UTC)

It was never stated that every Avatar can energybend, but that only Avatars can energybend, so it would be incorrect to add every Avatar to the category. As that only leaves two possible articles for the category, I don't see that it is particularly necessary. HAMMEROFTHØR (wall) • 18:00, May 17, 2012 (UTC)
It's known that Aang was one of a select few Avatars who learnt energybending, all Avatars being energybenders is canonically proved wrong. – Natsu11 · (wallNanatsu no Taizai) 18:17, May 17, 2012 (UTC)

I also don't think it is necessary. Energybending is not exactly in the same category as the normal bending arts, it is more specialized. That being said, I think things are fine the way that they are now. DarkKnightRises (wallcontribs) 18:19, May 17, 2012 (UTC)

There was an energybender category at one point, but it was deemed "unnecessary". If it revealed that Amon is an energybender, it would be appropriate to add that category. It is possible that more information will be revealed about the technique in later episodes, but until then things should remain as they are. --DivineElement (wallcontribs) 19:19, May 17, 2012 (UTC)
I disagree with adding the category per HoT and Natsu. --AvatarRokus Ghost (Message meRead my fanon) Energy Saga Dragons, Sieges and Volcanoes 19:22, May 17, 2012 (UTC)
Come on, guys. This just makes everything consistent. We have categories for all the other kinds of bending. What's the harm in making another similar category, even if it has fewer pages? --AvatarMonarchist 19:17, May 21, 2012 (UTC)
There is only one known energybender, and that is Aang. As mentioned above, just because you are the Avatar doesn't mean you are an energybender; it just means you can become. Korra isn't listed as an airbender for the same reason. Plus it is not confirmed that Amon is. There is no need to make a category just to add one single page in it. That half-defeats the purpose. Well isn't it stated in this very wiki that energy bending was the original bending before people started using the four base elements? In that case I would go so far to say that it does in fact deserve it's own category because it is form of bending, however just like any other form of bending it needs to be learned. I will say this though, what Amon is using may be an incomplete form of energybending, much like the majority of firebending(Zuko relearning from the dragons[the right way]). Compared to the knowledge imparted by the lionturtle which may have been the true form of energybending. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BurlingtonBeast (wallcontribs) This note was added on ~~~~~.

First of all, I highly doubt Amon is using energybending at all. I'm sure we will get an explanation eventually. Second, energybending is not in the same category as the other bending arts. It isn't the manipulation of an element, but the "control" over another's energy. Think about this. If energybending existed before the other bending arts, then what was it used for? It certainly wasn't used to remove another's bending, considering the fact that no other bending arts had been established. DarkKnightRises (wallcontribs) 23:45, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

If energy bending can take bending away, can it also give bending? (Hypershadw May 31,2012)
