This choice had come up before: IRC or Special: Chat? We recently had a discussion on IRC about why we don't have Special:Chat, someone did want it. They liked it better than IRC. Since most users have not experienced it, I propose that we turn on Special:Chat temporarily so that people can experience it and then vote if they want to keep it or let it go. I don't think "whichever gets the most chatters" is the one that should stay. Obviously, the Special:Chat option will get many users because they will want to test it out, we need to have an actual vote.--  Olorin The White  Talk  Contribs  Friends 03:34, July 1, 2011 (UTC)

I actually like the idea of using both for the following reasons. IRC is an incredibly useful tool and features many features more than the Chat. However, Chat is more user-friendly for newer users, and for that reason I believe that both forms of communication should be enabled. Rassilon ^{(Talk - Teru)} 01:44, July 2, 2011 (UTC)
