[edit] Description

The school's logo

Located on one of the outer islands of the Fire Nation, this upper-class school molds the young minds of the Fire Nation. This school in particular is one of the better public schools of the Fire Nation. The teachers here maintain extreme order and are very focused on creating perfect Fire Nation citizens. Students in this school start their education as soon as they begin Firebending (or as soon as they begin walking, for those non-benders). The curriculum includes etiquette, Fire Nation history, history of warfare, music and Firebending classes. The students are given recess during school in the main courtyard. The courtyard is a plain concrete area with a statue of Fire Lord Ozai in the center. It requires a strict uniform, consisting of brown pants or a skirt and shirt, a black and red vest, and a red sash marked with the school's logo. If in the school there are a student with a bad conduct, he/she can be sent to reform school in the coal mines.

[edit] History

Fire Nation School Classroom

This is the school in which Aang "attended" in the episode "The Headband." He took the name Kuzon and said that he came from the Earth Kingdom colonies. While there, he learned that the students were not learning the correct historic information in their classes. For example, they believed that the Air Nomads had their own formal military, when in actuality they did not. This is likely evidence of propaganda within the Fire Nation school curriculum; devised to convince the future citizens of the Fire Nation that Fire Lord Sozin fought an equal and just war with the Air Nomads which he won honorably. The truth of Sozin cunningly ambushing the Airbenders has been obliterated from the National History book completely. Whether or not this book states, at the very least, that Sozin "battled" the Air Nomads during the presence of a Firebending-enhancing comet, is unknown. Dancing, a means of self-expression, is also looked down upon for it inspires creativity and ingenuity - two traits that could pose a threat to the Fire Lord's control over his people. Through strict disciplinarian teachings and deceptive propaganda, the children and adults of the Fire Nation alike are taught to view the War as their way of spreading their greatness throughout the world. Very few acknowledge the fear and terror the Fire Nation has brought to the other nations.
