Pre-Into the Light

Thousands of years ago, shortly after the start of the Era of the Avatar, Yukio learned from her mentor, Yoake, how to lightbend and became the second person to learn the art of lightbending. Eventually, Yukio and her sister, Yazdalia, both took part in the War of Light and Darkness, each fighting on opposite sides. At the war's conclusion, the spirits tasked Yukio with finding the warrior of light that the ancient prophecy foretold would destroy all of the other nations and help the Avatar defeat him. Only then would she be able to die and enter the Spirit World.
