Synopsis

The rift gate opens up, and a spaceship rockets out of it into Earth. A passing satellite detects the ship, and transmits a warning. The spaceship flies over Colorado as the people go by their daily lives.

The spaceship crash-lands on a nearby forest near the town. Seiji, wearing a United Forces uniform with a life support helmet, steps out first to check for any dangers. Yuko, oblivious to any apparent danger, walks out casually, until Seiji slaps his helmet onto her head, still unsure if the dimension's air is breathable.

Sugimura assures them that the air is identical to their own dimension. Seiji asks Yuko to listen to his advice, explaining the dangers and why he was given the task to protect her, but she dismisses his claims, stating that she knows about his past.

The four are interrupted by army helicopters searching the forest. The four are caught in a spotlight as soldiers and tanks start surrounding them. Believing they are Dai Li agents, Seiji begins attacking the people with firebending, while Sugimura and Shizuku grabs Yuko and run for a safer area.

Yuko then takes her word and slices one of the tanks open, only to discover to her shock that the beings attacking them are humanoid like they are. She stops Seiji from further attacking, and the four escape under a smokescreen.

After they escaped from the area, they decide to blend in among the Earthlings to keep Yuko safe. Sugimura searches the internet to find what teens on Earth do, and finds a TV spot for High School High, which they use as an instruction manual to blend into high school, a 'perfect hiding place'.

As the soldiers recover from the attack, General Valu arrives to inspect the area. After a briefing, which the benders were described as "aliens", the X3 arrives to claim the crashed spacecraft. Haku, the leader of the group, announces they are taking over the investigation, and leaves with the spacecraft, much to Valu's anger.

Avatar Aang is chained in front of Dai Li agents as Azula reveals herself to him, whom the Avatar previously thought was dead. Azula explains to him that she was behind the attack on the Republic City, and that she is now the ruler. She asks where Yuko is, but the Avatar refuses to answer. Azula is not swayed and, reading his mind, she finds that the Avatar has perfected the rift gate technology, and has sent his daughter to another dimension.

Azula calls upon one of the darl spirits to go after the girl, and uses the rift gate to transport him to the dimension.

Yuko, Seiji, Sugimura and Shizuku disguise themselves as normal teenage students, and head to Lincoln High School. Sugimura explains the sects of the school, and that he has enrolled them in the school as siblings under the last name 'Bendson'.

As the four try to blend in, they each make a title in school- Yuko is considered a weird doofus by how she talks and her mismatched clothes, Sugimura a super nerd because he solved a complex problem with ease, Seiji as the bad boy the girls fall for, and Shizuku as the perfect girl.

Disappointed by their first day of school, they head for lunch in the cafeteria. Seiji sits in a table reserved for the 'jocks' of the school, and pick a fight with Seiji. They are no match, as Seijipummels them in front of the other schoolmates, earning him their admiration.

The dark spirit exits out of the rift gate, which created another warning. General Valo is the first to detect it, and plots a course for intersection before X3 finds it first.

Meanwhile, at X3, while inspecting the spacecraft, Haku learns of the incoming object, and sends Team Radikor after it.

Yuko, Seiji, Sugimura and Shizuku watch from their cafeteria TV screens as the falling object crashes, starts a fire, and then takes a life of its own and starts walking towards the city.

Yuko pleads to defend the city, but Seiji, Sugimura and Shizuku recommend against it, warning that exposing their disguises will send even more dark spirits to the dimension.

The Fire Spirit obliterates large parts of the city and military fighter planes with ease, Yuko decides to take her swprd and go fight it. Seiji, Sugimura and Shizuku have no choice but to follow her.

After seeing the 'aiens', Valo orders all weapons to fire upon them and the Fire Spirit. Trapped between Valo's ordnance and the Fire Spirit's fire attacks, Seiji, Sugimura and Shizuku make a fire/earth/water thing to take down the Fire Spirit.

People rush outside to see the aliens fight the monster, Valo completely bewildered by it. Seiji, Sugimura and Shizuku begin fighting the Fire Spirit as the crowd cheers on.

The Fire Spirit creates a huge wave of heat, which vaporizes the middle of the city. In retaliation, the aliens sends the Fire Spirits into the sea, which strips him of his fiery powers. Still not stopped, the spirit begins to squeeze the aliens. However, X3 uses its wave-motion cannon on the pair, and, while ineffective as a weapon, it distracts the spirit and allows the aliens to cut it to pieces.

With the Fire Spirit defeated, the aliens retreats away from the city and the army, who has resumed its attack, as Yuko, Seiji, Sugimura and Shizuku reflect over what they just did.
