Book 1: Resonance Trigger

History

Long before the emergence of the Avatar, there was a phenomenon that took place that threatened to start a war on an unprecedented level. A man from another dimension, whose name was lost to history, created a door connecting his own dimension with that where the Spirits held dominance and humanity was at its infancy. His goal was that of an ultimate conquest, and freed Vaatu from its confinement to Raava, creating a dark, unending world. It wasn't long before another crossed into this world. The first existing human from his own dimension, named Xegia (whom is eventually reincarnated into Ryu Shinto) used his vast spiritual powers to wage a campaign to stop the Resonance Trigger. After an exhausting final battle, Xegia returns Raava and Vaatu to their original confined form, closed the door connecting the two worlds, and separated the instigator from a physical form for all time, trapping what's left in the Leylines.

After several thousand years of confinement within the Leylines, fate gave him a second chance to achieve his goals. Both Borero, defeated by Ryu and Chireru and Vaatu, in a hibernating state, was sent upon being purified, had converged into the Leylines at the same time. Not wasting an opportunity, he takes advantage of Borero's lust for vengeance by introducing him to the possibility of completing his goals via fusing with Vaatu. Borero accepts, and as the first trigger's last act, gives the remaining power he possesses to awaken Vaatu. The two fuse, allowing Borero to become the successor as both the Dark Avatar and the Resonance Trigger, allowing the Legacy of Resonance to live on.
