| Zuko, something happened to The Unrecognized Avatar in the last hundred years.
This fanon has been discontinued, but is still available to read for your enjoyment.

I've been thinking of this theory for quite some time now. What if there was someone in the world of Avatar, who broke the means of the Avatar Cycle, thus gaining the ability to learn the other four elements? Lets say that this person learned all for elements with relevant ease, but still wasn't recognized by the cycle nor previous Avatars of the Spirit World. Anger at the unfairness of not being able to access the Avatar State nor connecting with previous Avatar incarnations, this person goes out on a quest of vengeance to find a way to connect to the Spirit World by finding the one he thinks he should be recognized as, the Avatar. I know that there are a lot of flaws in my theory, but I just wanted to share with the people of the Avatar wiki.-- (wall • contribs) 06:05, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
My theory reaches out further to the possibility of Amon being "The Unrecognized Avatar". It's a complete mystery of what Amon did or pursued during the time he left home. What if Amon knows how to use the other elements in his bending? It would make sense, to me of coarse, that it would be him. When he left from home because of Yakone forcing his vengeance of him and Tarrlock, he told Yakone this: "You always say that bloodbending is the most powerful thing in the world, but it isn't, the Avatar is. He took your bending away. What could be more powerful than that?"
That quote may be referring to him learning how to take peoples bending away through bloodbending, but what if he learned more abilities of the Avatar than the ability to take bending away, because he was/ is the unrecogonized Avatar?
