The fanon was released months prior, but due to the creator thinking that the fanon was made hastily and wanted to spend more time committing to the project, the fanon was removed from the site, and was relaunched. The first two Chapters was released on the same date, then the following chapters shall be released weekly from then on. The story is set some twenty years before the events on The Legend of Korra, in Republic City. The Spirit of Retribution chronicles the life of Hiara, a mother, and at the same time a metalbending police officer who is possessed by the devious Spirit of Retribution, Xonja. At first, the spirit was dormant, but when Hiara's family is threatened by the spiteful Triple Thread Triad leader Rupon, the spirit begins to manifest. Eventually, Hiara finds herself on a journey to save Republic City from the triad, and on the other hand, her peers, Lin Beifong, Tenzin, and Zenshu, find themselves on a race to save Hiara from the spirit's vengeful exploits, or else the spirit will fully take over Hiara's body, and she will cease to exist.
