Avatar: The Last Airbender The Legend of Korra

Following the events of Avatar: The Legend of Korra and Moon Drops, Star Dust focuses on the story of the next Avatar in the line of succession.

Summary

There has been a twenty-year lapse in time since the death of Avatar Korra, and the youngest son of Fire Lord Iroh has been identified as the next Avatar. But there's a problem that no one, save for the young prince, has yet realized: he is in fact not the Avatar.

A young woman by the name of Megumi residing on Kyoshi Island reveals herself to be the true Avatar when she unexpectedly enters the Avatar State in order to rescue a friend. That action, ultimately, creates more problems than it solves. A fast-declining United Republic of Nations needs the Avatar now more than ever before to restore peace, balance, and harmony. Megumi, however, is Kyoshi Island's self-proclaimed "Village Idiot"—and she's a nonbender. With the threat of world conquest on the edge of fruition, this half-baked Avatar needs to find some way to channel her inner "Great Bridge" before it's too late.

Star Dust continues the legacy left by the Avatars previously and proves that power—be it strength, skill, or divine—is not what makes a person legendary. Legends are formed by how the powers we are given are used: for great good or great evil.

Moon Phase Trilogy

While each "phase" can be read individually, the entire story is broken up into a trilogy (Moon Drops being, by far, the most advanced and complex of the storylines). The phase titles are based on each of the elements (excluding air), playing off the concept of the book titles for Avatar: The Last Airbender. Book one, Water is Moon Drops, Book two, Earth is Star Dust , and Book 3, Fire was originally going to be Sun Burned, but when paired with the other two it didn't quite fit. It has since been given the working-title Sun Down.
