Renegade is an action story written by Hydroxide. It takes place within an alternate universe of The Legend of Korra's fourth season, diverging after the ninth episode "Beyond the Wilds." In this universe, Prince Wu, the spoiled Earth Kingdom monarch, is kidnapped by the rogue vines throughout Republic City. After spending ten days trapped in the Spirit World, Korra and Mako manage to find the prince, but when he wakes up, no one realizes the kind of person Wu has changed into while he was in there. The story can be found on FanFiction.net.
After having gone missing for ten days, Korra and Mako find Prince Wu in a spirit pod in one of Republic City's dilapidated buildings. After he wakes up, the once spoiled, bratty, and arrogant Prince Wu is long gone, instead replaced by someone different: a dark, foreboding warrior who takes up arms against Kuvira's regime.
AU Legend of Korra, taking place after episode nine of the fourth season. Badass!Wu. Rated T for mild language and violence throughout.

"I've never read a fic about Wu before, but I can say that this story is fantastic. Really well done, plot-wise, writing-wise, and character development-wise. I didn't expect everything to tie in together as fluidly as it does. PLEASE do continue this, I'd be forever grateful."

"the writing is solid, characters are in character (so far and from what I have seen thus far) with the subtle change of Prince Wu's personality really nicely executed as he balances between his "old" and "new" himself and how you introduce this new Wu to us readers step by step, is really well done."

"Great story, thanks for posting such an interesting. This is probably the first story I've seen on , that actually explored the concept of developing Prince Wu's character, to be more than just a hanger-on to Team Avatar."
