Captain Ra-Den is a minor character in the fanon Avatar: The Legacy of Rong Yan series. Ra-Den, smuggles illegal immigrants from all over the world to designated places.

Captain Ra-Den, is a ship captain that legally imports and exports items and illegally imports and exports illegal immigrants from either of the four nations to their designated location. Among this human cargo are illegal immigrants, and wanted criminals.

Senlin, Palartok, and Kimaru, are given tickets by Senlin's friend Xuen a fencer who lives just a few miles northeast from the Lu'an the port town. When given the tickets they encounter the firebending captain at a cavern just a mile from the town of Lu'an itself. Hidden within this cavern is a secret port where illegal things are smuggled into the Earth Kingdom.

These things include, weapons, drugs, wild animals, immigrants, misc., and criminals. Upon giving Ra-Den their tickets he immediately burns them, as its an single admission only for each one. Upon the ship there are no rules other killing someone, which was punishable by expulsion from the ship. Which meant the person was thrown overboard.

For most of the end of the chapter, Ra-Den was not shown, but on the ship a fight broke out but before it actually spilled out it was controlled by Palartok and Kimaru.

Ra-Den, was born a firebender, he uses his skills on those who break the rules on his ship by burning them, and throwing them overboard afterwards. Mastering firebending at the age of 19, when he worked under the city guards of Yin La.

Being laid off at the age of 23, he was unemployed for two years and later became a ship captain who imported/exported illegal cargo.

Hand-to-Hand Combat

He learned hand-to-hand combat as a recruit in guard academy, in case the bender was ever rendered useless they could always use their fists for combat. Non-benders and Firebenders alike were trained in the unarmed combat for multi purposes though.

  • In the comic version, Ra-Den, did not actually have a name. He was simply called, the Shipmaster.
