Pokai, who lived 3,000 years before the War, was the first Weatherbender in the known history of the Avatar World. From the Southern Water Tribe, Pokai was a master Waterbender who would later become one of the first to be gifted with the ability to Weatherbend.
He is a spiritual guide in.
Much of Pokai's life is unknown; what is known is that he became a Weatherbender after being selected by the spirits.
He was married for fifty-two years and had five children.
At the end of his life, Pokai was chosen to be one of the spiritual guides of Weatherbending. Along with Avatar Zentai and Algaion, the decision was made to pull knowledge of Weatherbending from the world about 2,500 years before the War. He agreed with his fellow Weatherbenders that the knowledge should safely be held in Wan Shi Tong's library.
Pokai became a guardian of Weatherbending, along with Zentai and Algaion.
In 102 AG, Pokai got the word that Weatherbending was out amongst the human world again, and that it was being used to stage a global revolt.
Because the active Weatherbending master of Team Avatar is Reeaki, who is only a Firebender, Pokai agreed to help continue teaching, as Reeaki's access to the Waterbending weather moves were limited. Pokai will see this to its end, and hopes that this situation will be settled, hoping to remove Weatherbending's dangerous knowledge from the human world.
