"When the Flame Goes Out"
Koda is the son of a waterbender and a firebender, and the twin brother of a firebending girl named Meena. A talented young waterbender, Koda was allowed to train with young Avatar Korra during her waterbending training with Katara.
When he was a child, Koda was found to be exceptionally skilled at waterbending. His father asked the White Lotus leader to allow him to train with young Avatar Korra. Though he initially denied the request, Katara approved and the two quickly mastered the art; albeit Koda managed to complete his training weeks ahead of Korra.
While training under Genji, Koda proved adept at swordsmanship.
