Moon Drops

Kinto is the second son and fourth child of Avatar Korra and Councilman Tarrlok in the Moon Drops series.

Kinto was regarded as a dark character and was known for using painful or cruel waterbending techniques (such as daggers of ice or manipulating the water in one's stomach) that he learned from his older sister Kayok. Many portraits displayed throughout Kayok's palace depicted Kinto as being an enemy to Avatar Korra and her Krew, some of which included: one that displayed Korra trapped in a ball of water, another that showed Kinto trying to cause a tidal wave on top of the Krew riding Naga, and even one that had Kinto and Bolin battling—and Kinto apparently triumphing.

Under the strict tutelage of his older sister, Kinto's prowess as a waterbender was greatly praised. This attention to his skill gave the public the perception that he was quite powerful, especially after he demonstrated his ability to sink a United Forces battleship by himself.

History

As a waterbender in Republic City, Kinto did not feel quite at home. When his older brother, Akiak took hunting trips to the Northern Water Tribe Kinto would often volunteer to accompany him. Kinto was a chronic practical joker who played many tricks on his friends and siblings, often to the point of alienation. Kinto was also revealed to be highly prejudiced toward firebenders and the Fire Nation.

Unable to tolerate ignorance, Kinto was a big showoff and thus disregarded much of the Water Tribe's teachings in respect and honor. When his sister Kayok made her move against Republic City, Kinto was at her side as her apprentice.

While Kinto was not interested in inheriting the Free Republic, he recognized the value of having allies in high places. His true ambition was to explore the whole world, which he acted on in 203 AG at the age of 22. Since that time, Kinto has yet to settle down anywhere for long: he still has much to see and learn from around the world.

Trivia

  • Kinto's manipulating water in the stomach sounds greatly similar to bloodbending.
