Jump is the title of a fanon written by Azulazulazula. Published on August 24, 2012, the fanon centers around the shipping of the characters Toph Beifong and Sokka, more commonly known as Tokka. With five chapters, it will be Azulazulazula's shortest fanon project to date.

Toph Beifong, esteemed Chief of Police, has been framed for murder, but the true murderer framed her well, even getting her arrested. Only one problem: the metalbending Police Chief can and has escaped any trap, but in this case, she had to kill six people to do it, and another seven just to see her best friend Sokka. Now, the prosecution has her charged with fourteen counts of first degree murder, and if anybody catches her, she'll be hanged for sure. She won't let that happen. She has to run, but first, she has to find and talk to her best friend first. And along the way, she'll make some decisions, some crucial decisions. And maybe, just maybe, she can drag her best friend along with her...

"Jump" has been received well by Avatar Wiki users, with most readers praising the writing style.

Omashu Rocks, reader of and subscriber to "Jump", has praised the first chapter, stating, "[He] loved everything about [it]." He noted that he enjoyed the first-person point of view, the political backgrounds, the backstories, and the ending. Many other users praised the political intricacies, including FireFerret and Humble Imaginations.

FireFerret has also called the fanon, "Very well-written and interesting".

One user, AvatarRokusGhost, has praised the general premise of the fanon, though it is unclear whether or not he has in fact read the first chapter.

The most satisfied, though at first reluctant, reader is subscriber Makomako15, who has described it as, "Incredibly written and captivating". She has also called it "amazing" and expressed (loudly) her anticipation of the next chapter.

Amidst the praise, however, a couple of users have criticized the characterizations of Toph and Sokka, with FireFerret criticizing Toph and Aritiane criticizing Sokka. The latter stated: "Though, I somehow don't see Sokka being so non-sarcastic and submissive, both in narration and in dialogues," though he enjoyed the fanon over all, also stating, "An interesting piece of writing. [...] KUTGW. :)"

On September 22, 2012, Omashu Rocks reviewed "Jump", heavily praising it. Remarking on some high points of the fanon, Omashu Rocks stated: "I can't wait for the next chapter [...] The author includes really interesting backstories for the adult characters of Toph and others."

Mageddon725 gave "Jump" a relatively high score of 8.6. Calling the story, "beautifully haunting" and the writing style, "brilliant," he also heavily criticized the portrayal of the characters from the original series, especially Sokka, and the believability. Thus, both the categories of Character Development and Believability scored below 8.

Minnichi also praised the story, scoring it 8.84 out of 10. Like Mageddon, Minnichi criticized the characterization and believability of "Jump". She also heavily praised the clarity and portrayal of characters' emotions in the story.

MibuWolf gave the story a rating of 8.9/10, a "B+". In contrast with Minnichi and Mageddon725, MibuWolf felt that the development of Sokka and Toph was "wonderful," though she did agree with the two that the story was very far-fetched. While all of the other categories scored at least a 9.2, the "Believability" category was scored "6.2," bringing the overall score down considerably.

If you're a fan of "Jump", subscribe to it, and be up-to-date on all the new chapters. You don't have to ask me to add your name; just add it. :)

A Note from the Author

The image used for the infobox and for the property box is a picture of WTC7 from the base. As this ties into a major plot point of the fanon, I decided to use a picture from the base of one of the skyscrapers, but I couldn't find any of the older skyscrapers in the complex that I felt were suitable. The current picture is of the newly built WTC7 which stands within the new complex, and it is used on this fanon page to honor the 2,977 civilian lives lost on September 11, 2001. RIP, 9/11 victims, and God bless, families. :)
