head of Council of Elders
Monk Guyatson, the great grandson of Monk Gyatso, is one of the leaders of the Air Nomads that escaped the genocide. He and his group of 60 monks have came back to the Southern Air Temple in order to rebuild and re-inhabit it. He is much like Gyatso in appearance and humor and will become a sort of father figure to Aang. After hidding his culture and airbending for so long him and his people can once again be free and live in perfect harmony thanks to Avatar Aang and his friends.
He spent his entire life living in secrecy hiding from the Fire Nation. He was born in the Earth Kingdom town of Gaoling. He was raised by his mother and his father (grandson of Gyatso). He had 3 brothers and 4 sisters all of which including himself were taught airbending and Air Nomad culture by his grandfather (son of Gyatso). He became a very powerful airbender and became better than even his older sibling at a young age. Unfortunately, he was not able to become a truly great master because of fear of being caught by the Fire Nation.
Guyatson became a teacher to other young airbenders hiding in Gaoling. He also had 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls. He became a simple farmer such as his father had before him.
CurrentlyGuyatson is currently helping the rebuilding of the Southern Air Temple, and he is the head of the Council of Elders for the temple. He is also helping to educate the world on the importance of balance amongst the nations with Team Avatar.
