Getting Info pt 1: Azula is the fourth chapter of Finding Ursa.
It was a warm, sunny day. Katara was the first one to wake up, followed by Mai, then Aang, then Toph, and lastly, Iroh. Everyone had their bags packed except for Mai, who only was going to investigate. They quietly and carefully left for the Ember Island Health Institution. Before they left, they decided to buy some food, maps, and balloons for the wedding. Aang saw everyone in the Fire Nation getting along and reminded him of his time with Kuzon, his old friend from the Fire Nation who he last saw just a week before the Air Nomad Genocide.
While on their way to Ember Island, Iroh talked about Ursa and what kind of a person she was not just to Zuko, but to Azula as well. "Princess Ursa was a very caring, sweet, and innocent wife that just wanted what was best for her kids, Zuko and Azula. In fact, I see a lot of her in your mother, Katara. Sokka told the story of what happened to your mother to me. She did the same thing that your mother did to you tat she did to Zuko. She sacrificed herself to make sure that Zuko would live and not get killed by his own father"." She was a very brave woman."
"Guys, I don't mean to interrupt but I think we are here." They walked for 5 minutes before they reached the institution.
"Fire Lady Mai, Grand Lotus Iroh, Avatar Aang, Master Katara, and Master Toph, welcome to the Fire Nation's best health institution."
"Hello Kizo, I'm here to see my niece. I hope she's doing better."
"Ah she is Grand Lotus, however you must be careful, she is still a powerful firebender" Kizo replied.
"Yea well, we have the Fire Lady, the Avatar, and the best waterbender and earthbender of their generation. I'm pretty sure we'll be fine." Katara and Toph blushed a little as Kizo brought them to a security guard that led them to Azula's room.
"Be careful, she's still dangerous." Everyone nodded as he left.
Iroh was the first to go in. He quietly opened the door. "Uncle." Azula said being shocked.
"Hello Azula."
"Why are you here, Uncle?"
"I came to see how you are doing."
"Don't lie."
"No I didn't, but I'm also here for another reason." Iroh stated as he one-by-one let Toph, Katara, Aang, and Mai in.
"Oh look, if it isn't the blind girl, Water Tribe peasant, the Avatar, and my traitorous former ally. What do you want?" Azula calmly stated. She was now Mai's age. She grew a little, her hair was in a little mess, and she got a little skinner and more calm as well.
"Azula, I need to ask you a question. What happened that night?" Iroh demanded.
"What night?"
Iroh replied calmly, "the night that my father died and your mother disappeared."
"I don't know," she replied calmly.
"Yes you do. I can feel you shaking." Toph said back.
"Fine. Father asked to have an audience with Fire Lord Azulon. There, I showed off my military strategist skill and firebending prodigy skill. Grandfather was barely impressed and told us to leave. Me and Zuzu hide behind the curtains of the Throne Room as Father explained to Grandfather why he should be Fire Lord instead of you, mainly saying that because Lu Ten died, Father should be the heir. Grandfather was upset and ordered him to kill Zuzu as a punishment for talking out on him."
"And?" said an eager Mai.
"And what Mai? That's it. If you want to know the rest, talk to my father."
"Toph, is she lying?" said an angry Mai.
"Sadly, no."
"Thank you Azula for telling us this information. Goodbye."
