Garami Mir[]
Garami grew up in a mining town a bit outside of Republic City. At the age of 16 he fell in love with professional bending and at the age of 18 he left home to pursue his dream. He has been training in the city since and while he has valuable training, he is largely untested in actual fights. Garami is a big lovable character who follows his heart.

Fighting Style[]
He trains in a mixed martial arts setting, but is best at the grappling style of Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) which focuses on chokes, armbars, and joint locks. This style also works its way into his style of bending.
Naming[]
Garami is translated as entanglement in Japanese and is in the name of many subissions of Japanese Jiu Jitsu, from which BJJ is derived.
Mir comes from UFC fighter Frank Mir who held the heavyweight belt and became a dominant fighter by his use of submissions.
