Embers on the Wind is a fanon set during the early years of the Hundred Year War, from the Air Nomad Genocide to the Fall of Taku. It tells the story of Li Ten, a former Fire Nation soldier that defects to the Earth Kingdom after the Genocide.

One of the soldiers participating in the attack on the Eastern Air Temple was a young sergeant by the name of Li Ten. Sergeant Ten, horrified by the rampage of his comrades, deserted and helped save a pair of Air Nomad sisters.
