Chapter 5: Dumped

My heart has been torn. Mai had said those five words that broke my heart.

"It's over Zuko. We're done," she had said. After that, I was kicked out of the party. And it was all because of my temper.

Now because of Mai dumping me, I hated this Ember Island vacation. I walked to the old beach house that I had once gone to when I was younger. After a while, Azula found me. She led me down to the beach where Mai and Ty Lee were sitting.

"Hey," Mai said dully. I glared at her.

"Where's your new boyfriend?" I snapped. She frowned and turned away. I felt guilty after saying that.

"Are you cold?" I asked, placing my arm around her. She smacked my hand away.

"I'm freezing!" Ty Lee said. I then proceeded to start a fire while burning objects from the old beach house. When Ty Lee asked what I was doing, my temper got out of control. Finally, I ranted about how nothing felt right even though I had everything I wanted.

"Who are you angry at?" the girls all asked repeatedly.

"I'M ANGRY AT MYSELF!" I finally shouted angrily.

"Why?" Azula asked.

"Because I'm confused. Because I don't know the difference between right and wrong anymore," I said.

"I know one thing I care about. I care about you," Mai said. I smiled. She then proceeded to kiss me. I felt much better now. My broken heart had healed.
