Dufan is a minor character in the fanon Avatar: The Legacy of Rong Yan. He is a drug dealer/fence for the gangs Dixia, and Hei Shichang. Dufan, is also an earthbender, and only uses his earthbending for defense, double crossers, and crimes, he is also a one time minor character in the chapter, Chapter 9: The Escape Part 1: New Identity.

Born into a poor family in the southern lower ring of Ba Sing Se, Dufan's father was a fence in the Hei Shichang gang, and taught Dufan that as a poor person it is best to lead a life of crime and not one of good or he will suffer for life.

After the death of Dufan's father, Dufan took his place as a high-risk trader, a fence that sells canteens and hot property. Dufan became a very successful fence in the Hei Shichang gang, and gave the Hei Shichang large amounts of money because of it.

Only operating at night, from a restaurant that his late father owned as undercover. Selling his canteens, and hot property from all over the world, sells his stuff at high prices, unless otherwise, the buyer is from the Dixia gang, where they get a 70% discount on items.

During the day, Dufan is the head cook of his restaurant, his restaurant is often populated during the day, and closes early at night, to make arrangements. All proceeds of his undercover business goes to the Hei Shichang gang. Earning him a spot as the leader's finance man.

Encounter with Senlin and Haoke

Senlin and Haoke come to Dufan for Baotu's supply of drugs, and hot canteen. Senlin gives Dufan, a chest of a hundred glistening gold pieces for the stuff. Taking the gold, he gives them the canteen, and goes on his merry way, as another man appears to buy what he came for.

The three main drugs that the Hei Shichang produce, and that are sold by Dufan are:

  • Sheng Chang
  • Feng Cao
  • Fen

Assassination on Shan-Yu

Dufan was part of the raid that occurred on the day of the forty-second Earth King's coronation. He was fighting side-by-side with Qian Zei killing off the Mousha Quan Xinxian de Rous, and the Bings as well.

Dufan, prevented the death of Qian Zei, by striking a man with a fatal blow using a pillar of earth and he struck him in the chest. The man was an assassin sent out to kill one of the Muzhis of the Dixia gang. The right muzhi of the Dixia that is.

  • Unknown Father (formerly a fence; Father; Deceased)
  • Unknown Son (Son; successor when Dufan retires)

Dufan, was born an earthbender, and only uses his abilities for self-defense, double-crossers, and/or crime.

Being taught by the leader of the Hei Shichang gang, Dufan is almost basically, considered a master. He still has flaws though that do not allow him to become one.
