Introductions

Blurred Lines is the tenth chapter of the Darksome Knights: Resurrection, the final chapter of "Book 1: After the Battle, Before the War", and the second part of The Convergence.

Story

Glass coated the stone floor of the Great Hall. The ancient iron gargoyles fell on the floor, dented and defeated. Students and faculty huddled under wooden tables.

And still, the shaking continued.

"And on the evening we have our special guests too!" a shrill voice cried out.

Harry pushed himself off the woman he had been saving. Her brown eyes were terrified, but still kept the touch of the fiery determination that he always admired.

"You alright?" he asked.

"Never better." she replied.

Despite himself, a smile broke upon Harry's face. He turned and saw his two best friends, Ron and Hermione, in a similar conversation. A far more argumentative conversation.

"Ron, I'm fine. Will you get off me?" she asked.

"Are you sure? No broken bones, twisted ankles, sprained elbows..."

"Ron, get off me!" Hermione screamed.

Ron stood on his knees, throwing his hands up in surrender. Hermione crawled to her knees and faced Harry.

"So, what's the plan?" Hermione asked.

"Plan?" Harry asked.

"Guys you need to see this." Ginny interrupted.

The four turned to see Luna crouching over a brown-haired man. He was breathing heavily and holding his head.

"Luna, what happened?" Ron asked.

"I don't know." she answered worriedly.

In Pallet Town

"Mom!" Ash yelled as he ran down the stairs.

"Pika!" Pikachu screamed as he flew alongside Ash.

Delia was under the table in the kitchen.

"Ash! Get under here!" she yelled.

Ash and Pikachu dashed under the table. Ash grabbed the table leg next to the one his mom was holding on to and Pikachu grabbed onto the one next to his.

"Mimey!" Delia called. "Where are you?"

"MIME!" a high voice cried. The three under the table looked and saw a Mr. Mime under a fallen pile of roof.

"Mimey!" Delia ran out from under the table.

"Mom! No!" Ash tried to stop her but Pikachu bit his shirt and pulled him bacl.

Ash could only watch in horror as his mom struggled to help Mimey, then disappeared as a section of roof collapsed on her.

In Manhattan

Percy woke up from a horrible nightmare. He was running to Annabeth on the outskirts of Camp Half-Blood. All of a sudden, Annabeth disovled and the earth started shaking.

When Percy awoke, he was at home in his bed. But the earth was still shaking.

Moving quickly he slid down the stairs and saw his mom huddled under a desk.

"Percy! Get under here!" she yelled.

Percy ran over to her. The shaking caused him to trip, but he landed unscathed.

Percy and his mom gave each other a look. Even though nothing was said, they both knew the question they were asking.

Poseidon?

Under his breath, Percy muttered a prayer to his father, begging him to end the quake.

Then, miraculously...

In the Castle

...the shaking stopped.

The Five Pillars unsteadily got to their feet. Looking around, a look of disbelief was on every face. It was like a miracle that the shaking had stopped.

Haewa took off running. The others soon followed. His route took them up the highest tower in the castle, over fallen roofs and statues, past holes in the alabaster walls.

Finally, they reached the highest point.

"Why did you bring us up here?" Sigan asked through ragged breaths.

"Look." Haewa pointed his staff at the landscape. They all followed his gaze.

To the south a grand sea had emerged, small dots toward the horizon signified other islands. In the east, grand cities had erupted, poking their metallic heads into the cerulean sky. In the west, a beautiful black castle stood side by side with tiny huts. To the north icy wastelands stretched out to the horizon. Bright new planets circled overhead.

"It's time, isn't it?" Geolda stared sadly at Haewa.

"Yes." Haewa said, lowering his bow.

"The Darksome Knight is back."
