Dual dao swords, fire
|Chronological and political information|
In the Energybending village, it's illegal to bend another element than energy. Although Cheng was an orphan, he was cared for by Ken's Aunt Kelly. One day, Cheng was reading a book titled "The Legacy of Fire" and started doing the technique. He was only twelve, but he could already create fire, and showed Ken's parents one day. Although Ken begged his parents not to report Cheng, they reported his treachery to the Village Elders who banished Cheng.
Kelly helped Cheng build a house in the forest, where he continued his studies on Firebending by reading a books about Firebending Aunt Kelly would bring him. After Aunt Kelly had died from a heart attack at age of sixty-six, however, he couldn't continue training due to the lack of books, and he stopped for about a few months. When he met Ken again during those few months, they practiced using his dual dao swords. Cheng hasent used those swords for years and has become very, very rusty both the swords and his skills.
Cheng attempted one day to sneak into the village to steal some food, when Ken saw him. They went to the cave garden, where they talked about their lives, and quickly became best friends. Ken would bring Cheng food and books of Firebending. When Ken doesn't succeed in bringing Cheng books, he practices with his dual dao swords.
