Short Bio: The latest of the Avatars, Korra was born in the Southern Water Tribe and very quickly showed herself to be a natural at wielding all of the elements, mastering all but airbending in a comparatively short span of time. Initially eager to learn airbending, Korra's journey to Republic City opens up an entirely new world to her, as well as incredible challenges and turmoil. And through this turmoil the arrogant and combative young Avatar will be taught some painful lessons in humility, and in the process how to truly live up to her legacy.

Bolin and Pabu art

Bolin and Pabu avatar by Gaia Online

"Ah do go on! I love praise!"
―Bolin.

Age: 17

Hair Color: Black

Personality: Self-assured, confident, flirtatious, easygoing, laid-back, friendly, pleasant, fun-loving, cheerful.

Short Bio: Bolin and his brother were orphaned at a young age when their parents were killed by a mugger one night. But while Mako was left deeply emotionally scarred by witnessing the event and also had to mature at a young age as a result, Bolin, who had not been there to witness the event, instead learned to cope with his grief by doing his best to enjoy life to its fullest. He is typically upbeat and cheerful, and at times seems almost clownish to others. However as the years have gone by Bolin has also developed a fondness for the fairer sex, and has had many one-night stands over the years, to the point that his brother seriously doubts if Bolin has it in him to make any kind of true romantic commitment.

Short Bio: When Mako was only eight years old he saw his parents be taken from him by a mugger when the family was leaving a play one night and made the fatal mistake of cutting through an abandoned alleyway. Afterwards Mako and his brother were raised by Toza (who was a friend of their parents) and Mako was also forced to mature at a young age to look after himself and his brother. In his desperation he even did jobs for the Triple Threat Triad gang for a time before discovering pro-bending and making that his planned avenue with which to get himself and his brother out of poverty. As a result Mako trains himself relentlessly, determined to win the championship and secure a better life for himself and his brother.

Asami Sato

Asami Sato (Biker Outfit)

Asami Sato avatar by Gaia Online

"You can't be afraid to mix it up sometimes"
―Asami.

Age: 19

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Green

Nationality: Republic City

Personality: Sweet, pleasant, friendly, fun-loving, easygoing, compassionate, kind, loyal to friends and family, idealistic, noble

Alignment: Lawful Good

Likes: Pro-bending, testing out Satomobiles, driving vehicles, fun, dressing up for special occasions, spending time with Mako and Korra, her company succeeding

Dislikes: The Equalists, cruelty, oppression, her father being accused of crimes (initially), her father (after his nature is revealed), her friends being unhappy, her company failing

Family: Hiroshi Sato (Father), Unnamed mother (Deceased), Mako (Lover)

Friends: Avatar Korra, Bolin, Shaobing, Tenzin and his family, Varrick

Enemies: Amon and his Equalists, The Agni Kai Gang, The Red Monsoon Gang, Tarrlok, Dark Spirits, The Steel Empire, The Triple Threat Triads, Varrick

Short Bio: Asami Sato is the beautiful daughter of wealthy industrialist Hiroshi Sato and one of the biggest fans of the vehicles her father's company makes. She is adept at piloting just about any vehicle that has come out of a Future Industries factory, and sometimes personally tests out new Satomobile models. Though her mother was murdered by members of the Agni Kai gang, Asami has not let this darken her disposition and she is instead a fun-loving and pleasant person who regularly attends Pro-Bending matches in addition to her vehicular passions. She is particularly fond of the Fire Ferrets, and eventually begins seeing one of its members romantically.

Shaobing/Ziyou de Feng

Shaobing-Blue Spirit II

Shaobing, the second Blue Spirit (Avatar by Gaia Online)

"You're about to have a very bad day."
―Shaobing.

Age: Late twenties

Hair Color: Dark Brown

Eye Color: Blue

Nationality: Republic City

Personality: Easygoing, friendly, pleasant (as Ziyou). Driven, determined, serious, stoic, mildly ruthless, righteous, noble, tactical (as Shaobing).

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Likes: Shirshus, protecting the innocent, spending time with his grandmother, working with the Avatar

Dislikes: Criminals, gang-violence, oppression of the innocent, being called a vigilante

Family: June (Grandmother), Jet (Grandfather, deceased), Unnamed father and mother

Friends: Avatar Korra, Bolin, Mako, Asami Sato, The Kyoshi Commandos, the Resistance

Enemies: The Triple Threat Triads, The Red Monsoon Gang, The Agni Kai Gang, Amon and his Equalists, Tarrlok, Varrick

Short Bio: Believed to have perished in the bowels underneath Lake Laogai, Jet managed to recover from his injuries and alongside his two remaining Freedom Fighters attempted to start fresh as they had originally planned. Eventually leaving his friends behind to start a new life on his own, Jet crossed paths with the mercenary June, and the two began working together. Eventually their partnership turned into love and they conceived a child. That child's son is named Ziyou de Feng, who currently lives in Republic City with his grandmother, now long since retired from the bounty hunting business.

Having always seen first-hand the injustices the people of Republic City were subjected to and inspired by stories about his grandfather told to him by his grandmother took up his late relative's old hook swords and vowed to right wrongs and battle criminals on his own terms. Wearing a blue oni mask that his grandfather had found in the water while escaping Lake Laogai to conceal his identity, Ziyou became the masked crusader Shaobing. Though he managed to stop criminals where he could, several near-death experiences as well as running afoul of the Metalbending police (who viewed him as a vigilante) eventually prompted him to hang up the mask at his grandmother's request, who was still dealing with her husband's passing. Only time will tell if Ziyou will ever don the mask again.

Aang's Family

Tenzin

Tenzin Avatar

Tenzin

"There is far more to being the Avatar than fighting Korra. When will you learn that?"
―Tenzin to Korra.

Age: 48

Hair Color: Bald (Black facial hair)

Eye Color: Blue

Nationality: Republic City Air Temple Island

Personality: Spiritual, reserved, stuffy, noble, polite, respectful, easily exasperated, kind, fatherly (to Korra and his daughters), mindful, insecure (regarding his trying to live up to his father's legacy)

Alignment: Lawful Good

Likes: Meditation, peace, living up to his father's image, being listened to

Dislikes: Chaos, disorder, failing to live up to his father's image, invoking his mother in an argument, not being listened to, Korra and his daughter's immaturity

Family: Aang (Father, deceased), Katara (Mother), Sokka (Maternal Uncle, deceased), Hakoda (Maternal Grandfather, deceased), Kya (Maternal Grandmother, deceased), Bumi II (Brother), Kya II (Sister), Pema (Wife), Jinora and Ikki (Daughters), Kuzon II (Son)

Friends: Chief Lin Bei-Fong, The Council, Avatar Korra, Team Avatar

Enemies: Amon and his Equalists, Tarrlok, Dark Spirits, Azula, Yanwu

Short Bio: The youngest of Aang's three children, Tenzin was also the only one who possessed airbending. As a result he has always felt it his imperative duty to continue Aang's legacy as best he can, and goes out of his way to emulate his father as much as possible. Ironically despite this Tenzin typically comes off as very formal and even a bit stuffy. He has a seat on Republic City's council and also becomes (somewhat against his will) Korra's airbending instructor.

Pema

Pema Avatar

Pema

"Relax. I'm not helpless, just pregnant"
―Pema.

Age: 40

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Blue

Nationality: Republic City Air Temple Island

Personality: Pleasant, maternal, caring, considerate, compassionate, reserved

Alignment: Lawful Good

Likes: Peace, order, spending time with her family, cooking, gardening

Dislikes: Her daughters fighting, her daughter's antics

Family: Tenzin (Husband), Jinora and Ikki (Daughters), Kuzon II (Son), Aang (Father-in-law, deceased), Katara (Mother-in-law), Sokka (Maternal uncle-in-law, deceased), Hakoda (Maternal Grandfather-in-law, deceased), Kya (Maternal Grandmother-in-law, deceased), Bumi II (Brother-in-law), Kya II (Sister-in-law)

Friends: Avatar Korra, Team Avatar

Enemies: Amon and his Equalists

Short Bio: Tenzin's wife, Pema has already given birth to two of their children, and by the beginning of the story is heavily pregnant with a third. According to Katara, the third child is destined to be an airbender much like the first two, which Pema for her part is weary of due to having little patience for her young daughter's airbending-assisted antics.

Jinora

Jinora Avatar

Jinora

"I will make no such promises"
―Jinora to Tenzin when he asks her to promise to not end up like Korra.

Age: 12

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Brown

Nationality: Republic City Air Temple Island

Personality: Studious, playful, naive, easygoing, self-assured, proud of her knowledge

Alignment: True Neutral

Likes: Being right, being listened to, showing off her knowledge, playing, pleasing her parents

Dislikes: Being wrong, being upstaged by Ikki

Family: Tenzin (Father), Pema (Mother), Ikki (Sister), Kuzon II (Brother), Bumi II (Paternal Uncle), Kya II (Paternal Aunt), Katara (Paternal Grandmother), Aang (Paternal Grandfather, deceased), Sokka (Paternal Granduncle, deceased), Hakoda (Paternal Great-Grandfather, deceased), Kya (Paternal Great-Grandmother, deceased)

Friends: Avatar Korra

Enemies: Amon and his Equalists

Short Bio: Jinora is the older of Tenzin and Pema's two daughters and fancies herself the more studious one. Having read extensively about her grandparent's adventures and exploits, as well as Air Nomad culture and just information in general, Jinora prides herself on her extensive knowledge and is not above occasionally rubbing it in to her younger and more capricious sister Ikki.

Ikki

Ikki Avatar

Ikki

"Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"
―Ikki.

Age: 10

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Brown

Nationality: Republic City Air Temple Island

Personality: Playful, energetic, annoying, naive, mildly insensitive, upbeat, cheerful, competitive (with Jinora)

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Likes: Acting on her whims, upstaging Jinora, having fun

Dislikes: Not having fun, quiet stuff, being upstaged by Jinora

Family: Tenzin (Father), Pema (Mother), Jinora (Sister), Kuzon II (Brother), Bumi II (Paternal Uncle), Kya II (Paternal Aunt), Katara (Paternal Grandmother), Aang (Paternal Grandfather, deceased), Sokka (Paternal Granduncle, deceased), Hakoda (Paternal Great-Grandfather, deceased), Kya (Paternal Great-Grandmother, deceased)

Friends: Avatar Korra

Enemies: Amon and his Equalists

Short Bio: Ikki is the younger of Tenzin and Pema's two daughters. Perpetually filled to the bursting point with energy, Ikki is prone to jumping and down, talking incredibly fast, going on inane ramblings, and generally behaving in manners that confuse and sometimes also irritate others. Due to her young age and naive personality, Ikki is often unable to recognize when she is being off-putting. She maintains a mild sibling rivalry with Jinora.

Bumi II

Bumi II Avatar

Bumi II

"You're the oldest of us but you always acted like the youngest"
―Tenzin about Bumi.

Age: 57

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Brown

Nationality: United Republic of Nations

Personality: Upbeat, cheerful, easygoing, laid-back, playful, comedic, irreverent, boastful, competitive (with his siblings), mischievous, scatter-brained

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Likes: Excitement, adventure, being listened to, being right, outdoing his siblings, pulling pranks

Dislikes: Not being listened to, being lectured by his siblings

Family: Aang (Father, deceased), Katara (Mother), Sokka (Maternal Uncle, deceased), Hakoda (Maternal Grandfather, deceased), Kya (Maternal Grandmother, deceased), Tenzin (Brother), Kya II (Sister), Jinora and Ikki (Nieces), Kuzon II (Nephew)

Friends: General Iroh II, Avatar Korra, Bum-Jun

Enemies: Dark Spirits, Azula

Short Bio: The oldest child of Aang and Katara, and also the only one who was not a bender, Bumi learned to cope with his soon becoming the less favored child by finding refuge in his natural irreverence and mercurial behavior. Joining the fledging URN military on a whim, Bumi showed early on a surprising aptitude for daring and (to observers) impossible feats of bravery and heroism that saw him rapidly promoted until soon he was second-in-command of the entire URN military under General Iroh II. Bumi never seemed to mind serving under a man almost young enough to be his son, and regularly joined General Iroh for tea. As he approaches 60, he has been giving some consideration to retirement, even though a part of him still loves the adventure and excitement of the military life. The chaos and violence he's less crazy about.

Kya II

Kya II Avatar
"You think you're the responsible one!? Where were you after dad died and mom was all alone!? Because I was the only one who packed up my whole life to be with her!"
―Kya exploding at her brother.

Age: 50

Hair Color: Light Gray

Eye Color: Blue

Nationality: Water Tribe

Personality: Laid-back, loyal (to her mother), caring and considerate (to Ikki), bitter and resentful (towards her brothers), easily exasperated (by her brothers), smug and teasing (towards her brothers)

Alignment: True Neutral/Neutral Good

Likes: Spending time with her mother and nieces, peace and quiet, relaxing

Dislikes: Remembering her childhood, dealing with her brothers

Family: Aang (Father, deceased), Katara (Mother), Sokka (Maternal Uncle, deceased), Hakoda (Maternal Grandfather, deceased), Kya (Maternal Grandmother, deceased), Tenzin and Bumi II (Brothers), Jinora and Ikki (Nieces), Kuzon II (Nephew)

Friends: Avatar Korra

Enemies: Dark Spirits, Azula

Short Bio: The middle-child of Aang and Katara and also their only daughter, Kya inherited her mother's waterbending and on a certain level her kindness. However, she also like her older brother grew up having to watch Aang favor Tenzin, and as a result the familial relationships between the three siblings became very strained. Kya in particular became incredibly bitter towards her two brothers, especially when she was left to look after her mother by herself following Aang's death while Tenzin continued his efforts to live up to his father's legacy and Bumi joined the military. Believing that her brothers had sold out and abandoned her and her mother, Kya developed a large amount of pent-up resentment that she struggles to keep bottled up. It is likely that if she ever had to spend too much time around her brothers again, she would finally unleash everything she's kept pent up for the last twenty years.

The Equalists

Amon

Amon Avatar

Amon

"The era of bending is over. The Revolution has begun!"
―Amon.

Age: Unknown

Hair Color: Unknown

Eye Color: Unknown

Nationality: Unknown

Personality: Mysterious, driven, ruthless, stoic, hateful (towards Benders), self-righteous, callous, cunning

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Likes: Success, stripping people of their bending, recruiting new Equalists, building "a better world"

Dislikes: Benders, bending, people who try to defend bending and benders, failure, cheating, being challenged and defied

Family: Unknown

Friends: Equalist Lieutenant, Hiroshi Sato, Ge-Duan

Enemies: Benders, Avatar Korra, Team Avatar, Metalbending police, Tarrlok and his task-force, Tenzin and his family

Short Bio: Precious little is known about the masked revolutionary known as Amon. Hiding his face (which he claims is horribly scarred) behind an eerie white mask at all times, Amon has already made his rabid anti-bending position abundantly clear, as well as his desire to rid the world of bending. Possessing the unsettling ability to take away a person's bending forever, not to mention an army of fanatically dedicated followers, Amon stands a very good chance of achieving his goals, unless Avatar Korra and her friends can stop him.

Equalist Lieutenant

Equalist Lieutenant (Long de Shou)

Equalist Lieutenant

"You benders need to understand. There's no place in the world for you anymore"
―The Lieutenant to Bolin and Mako.

Age: Unknown

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Green

Nationality: Unknown

Personality: Mysterious, driven, ruthless, stoic, hateful (towards Benders), callous, dispassionate

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Likes: Fighting and defeating benders, pleasing Amon

Dislikes: Benders, bending, people who try to defend bending and benders, failure, disappointing Amon

Family: Unknown

Friends: Amon, Hiroshi Sato, Ge-Duan

Enemies: Benders, Avatar Korra, Team Avatar, Metalbending police, Tarrlok and his task-force, Tenzin and his family

Short Bio: Just as mysterious as his master, the enigmatic Equalist Lieutenant (who's real name and backstory are known only by Amon and himself) is Amon's most fanatically dedicated servant and enforcer, and follows his every command without question. He is completely cold-blooded, single-minded, and ruthless, just like Amon himself.

Chi-Blockers

Chi-Blocker Avatar

Chi-Blocker

"..."
―.

Age: Unknown, presumably varies

Hair Color: Unknown, presumably varies

Eye Color: Unknown, presumably varies

Nationality: United Republic of Nations

Personality: Mysterious, driven, ruthless, stoic, hateful (towards Benders), callous, dispassionate

Alignment: Neutral Evil

Likes: Fighting and defeating benders

Dislikes: Benders, bending, failure

Family: Unknown, presumably varies

Friends: Amon, The Lieutenant, Hiroshi Sato, Ge-Duan

Enemies: Benders, Avatar Korra, Team Avatar, Metalbending police, Tarrlok and his task-force, Tenzin and his family, Kyoshi Commandos, the Resistance

Short Bio: As much a face of the Equalists as their masked leader, the Chi-Blockers represent the primary foot-soldiers of the Equalist's army, and though they are not benders they have learned to compensate for this in a variety of ways. Incredibly deadly hand-to-hand fighters well-versed in their primary form of attack, they are also very agile, fast, and typically arm themselves with a small arsenal of different weapons. They are also adept at using stealth and are excellent motorcyclists. In all, they are a very serious danger to the bending community, though having said that because they are trained to fight benders specifically they are less prepared to deal with non-bender opponents with good hand-to-hand fighting skills and as such do not fare as well in hand-to-hand fights. They are also typically not very hardy, and if hit with enough force are likely to stay down.

Hiroshi Sato

Hiroshi Sato Avatar

Hiroshi Sato

"These people...these benders...they took away your mother, the love of my life. They've ruined this world. But with Amon we can fix it, and build a better world together. We can help people like us everywhere!"
―Hiroshi attempting to convince his daughter to join him.

Age: Early-to mid fifties

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Gray

Nationality: United Republic of Nations

Personality: Friendly, cheerful, generous, kind, easygoing, pleasant (outwardly). Bitter, resentful, xenophobic against benders, delusional, tragic (actual self).

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Likes: Financial success (formerly), spending time with his family (formerly), inventing (formerly), keeping his daughter safe, helping Amon

Dislikes: Benders, bending, people who try to defend bending and benders, his daughter being in danger, remembering his dead wife

Family: Unnamed wife (Deceased), Asami Sato (Daughter)

Friends: Amon, The Lieutenant, Ge-Duan

Enemies: Benders, Avatar Korra, Mako, Team Avatar, Tenzin, Metalbending police

Short Bio: Outwardly Hiroshi Sato is a perfectly respectable businessman and also perhaps the wealthiest man in all of Republic City due to his being the inventor of the Satomobile, which revolutionized the way in which people got around. Since then Hiroshi's business (known as Future Industries) has expanded to include other vehicles besides the classic Satomobile.

But Hiroshi's pleasant demeanor hides a far more sinister character, one who is in fact the creator of the Equalist's various hi-tech weaponry. Though initially a reluctant supporter who only helped Amon because he owed the revolutionary for giving him the loan that he used to start his fortune years ago, following his wife's murder by members of the Agni Kai gang he sunk into despair and from there Amon was able to convert him to his way of thinking in full. As a result Hiroshi is now fiercely dedicated to the Equalist's cause, but does not want his daughter to be a part of it and does his best to shield her from the truth of who he is.

Ge-Duan

Ge-Duan

Ge-Duan

"My you're a pretty thing. Who knows? Maybe I can get a different payment out of Mr. Sato for bringing back his daughter"
―Ge-Duan expresses a lustful attraction to Asami.

Age: Unknown

Hair Color: Unknown

Eye Color: Unknown

Nationality: Unknown, presumably United Republic of Nations

Personality: Cruel, sadistic, arrogant, xenophobic (against benders), misogynistic

Alignment: Neutral Evil

Likes: Success, abusing benders, Asami's beauty

Dislikes: Benders, bending, defiance

Family: Unknown

Friends: Amon, Hiroshi Sato

Enemies: Benders, Mako, Asami Sato

Short Bio: A higher-ranking member of the Equalists, Ge-Duan oversees the Equalist's gathering of benders off the streets and delivers them to Amon for de-bending. After Asami joins Team Avatar to stand against her father and the Equalists, Hiroshi offers a reward to any Equalist who can bring back his daughter. Not against the idea of collecting, especially after seeing Asami's beauty firsthand, Ge-Duan comes into conflict with her and Mako. Wielding a bull-whip in battle he is sadistic and vain.

Equalist Police

Equalist Police

Equalist Police

"Your neighbor's reports about you both beings says otherwise. Hands in the air now"
―An Equalist Police officer arresting a bender couple for being benders, also countering the man's assertion that they've done nothing wrong

Age: Unknown, presumably varies

Hair Color: Varies

Eye Color: Varies

Nationality: United Republic of Nations

Personality: Fascistic, totalitarian, brutal, xenophobic (towards benders), ruthless, militant, callous

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Likes: Arresting, beating, abusing, and oppressing benders

Dislikes: Benders, bending, people who resist arrest

Family: Unknown, presumably varies

Friends: Amon, The Lieutenant, Hiroshi Sato, Ge-Duan

Enemies: Benders, Avatar Korra, Team Avatar, Tenzin and his family, the Kyoshi Commandos, the Resistance

Short Bio: Following his taking over Republic City, Amon creates a new Equalist Police force to replace the now dissolved metalbending police force. Though their stated purpose is to maintain "order" they instead impose martial law and brutally oppress, mistreat, and arrest benders simply for being benders. Armed with an electrified kali stick, a truncheon, and a massive metal riot shield, as well as armor, the Equalist Police promise to become a feared symbol of Equalist might and authority.

Noatok

Amon Unmasked Avatar

Noatok

"Even though I had seen and endured more than enough to prove that benders were the enemy, their "gifts" were curses to all others who did not also possess them, and that I would continue to suffer beneath the heel of the bending community if I did not strike back, I still did not become who I am today until after my one friend betrayed me and left me to die. Why? Because I still believed that I could eventually overcome the prejudice. That given time the oppression and unfairness would burn itself out and and that one day my family and I would no longer suffer for not being benders. In short, I was an utter fool."
―Amon/Noatok shows his bitterness.

Age: Forties

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Gray

Nationality: Unknown

Personality: Driven, ruthless, stoic, hateful (towards Benders), self-righteous, callous, cunning, vindictive, tragic

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Likes: Success, stripping people of their bending, recruiting new Equalists, building "a better world"

Dislikes: Benders, bending, people who try to defend bending and benders, failure, cheating, being challenged and defied, remembering his painful past

Family: Long de Shou (Son), Unnamed Wife (Possibly deceased), Unnamed Daughter

Friends: Hiroshi Sato, Ge-Duan

Enemies: Benders, Avatar Korra, Team Avatar, Metalbending police, Tarrlok and his task-force, Tenzin and his family

Short Bio: With his mask discarded the horrific injuries Amon (real name Noatok) suffered from that fateful fire are eerily apparent. But the greatest scars are to his mind, with his injuries being what caused him to finally snap after years of suffering from the bending community. Making a deal with Koh the Face-Stealer, Noatok was given the ability to take away a person's bending in exchange for giving Koh the Avatar when he or she showed up to stop him. With Republic City having at last fallen, Noatok prepares to face the Avatar and uphold his end of the bargain. Then the real work begins.

Republic City

Chief Lin Bei-Fong

Chief Lin Bei-Fong Avatar

Chief Lin Bei-Fong

"That's ancient history. And it's got diddly squat to do with the trouble you're in now"
―Lin Bei-Fong to Avatar Korra

Age: Early Fifties

Hair Color: Gray (Formerly black)

Eye Color: Green

Nationality: United Republic of Nations

Personality: Gruff, no-nonsense, authoritative, grumpy, serious, commanding, dedicated, determined, bitter (towards Tenzin), surly

Alignment: Lawful Neutral/Lawful Good

Likes: Order, obedience, discipline, respect for authority, getting the job done

Dislikes: Law-breaking, criminals, disruption of order, vigilantes, lack of respect for authority, being doubted, failure

Family: Toph Bei-Fong (Mother, deceased), Unnamed father (Deceased), Unnamed Maternal Grandfather (Deceased), Unnamed Maternal Grandmother (Deceased)

Friends: Her officers, Tenzin (sort of), Avatar Korra, Mako, Bolin, Asami Sato, Shaobing, Tenzin's family

Enemies: The Triple Threat Triads, the Agni Kai Gang, the Red Monsoon Gang, Amon and his Equalists

Short Bio: Daughter of the legendary Toph Bei-Fong, Lin inherited most of her mother's abilities and general personality traits with the major exception of how she views authority. Unlike her mother, who was largely contemptuous of authority until the later years of her life, Lin has always been a stickler for obeying the rules. Perhaps it was no surprise then that she came to join and eventually lead Republic City's body of law and order. As it's chief she has been serving dutifully for an incredibly long stretch of time and is largely to thank for bringing crime in Republic City down by quite a bit. Despite this she is not a fan of the press, or for that matter the Republic City Council. In particular her relationship with Tenzin is incredibly strained due to their having once been romantically involved.

Councilman Tarrlok

Councilman Tarrlok Avatar

Councilman Tarrlok

"These people are the enemy! They have no rights!"
―Tarrlok snaps

Age: Forties

Hair Color: Light Brown

Eye Color: Blue

Nationality: Water Tribe

Personality: Proud, confident, arrogant, charismatic, suave, sophisticated, duplicitous, deceitful, cunning, ruthless

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Likes: Getting his way, stopping Amon and his Equalists, getting under Tenzin's skin

Dislikes: Failure, not getting his way, Amon and his Equalists, being questioned, Korra getting in his way, being compared to Amon

Family: Yakone (Father, deceased), Unnamed Mother (Possibly Deceased)

Friends: His Task-Force

Enemies: Amon and his Equalists, Tenzin, Avatar Korra, Team Avatar

Short Bio: Outwardly slick and charming, Councilman Tarrlok's charismatic persona hides a far more ruthless and sinister individual, who though desiring to stop Amon and his Equalists resorts to brutal and militant methods that Tenzin argues will only make Amon's followers even more resentful of benders than they already are. Tarrlok however is convinced that the ends justify the means and will do whatever he thinks is necessary to stop Amon, whether Korra stands with him or not. Knowing how to work others for his own ends, Tarrlok has Lin Bei-Fong's second Saikhan firmly in his pocket and regularly convinces his fellow council members to agree with his decisions, no matter how many people they will hurt.

Alignment: Neutral Evil

Likes: Winning, seducing women

Friends: The other Wolf-Bats

Enemies: The Fire Ferrets, other Pro-Bending teams, Amon and his Equalists

Short Bio: Leader of reigning pro-bending champions the Wolf-Bats, Tahno and his crew's success has very much gone to their heads, and Tahno for his part is determined to maintain his "superiority" at any cost, even if it means cheating in the form of either illegal moves or bribing other teams to throw a match. Looking down on other pro-benders (and people in general) as beneath him, Tahno also has the bad habit of lecherously pursuing any female who catches his idea, usually going for girls just as spoiled and self-entitled as he is.

Varrick

"I'm always one to stand up for the little guy, especially when it makes this big guy bigger!"
―Varrick

Age: Unknown

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Blue

Nationality: Water Tribe

Personality: Zany, eccentric, charismatic, charming, greedy, manipulative, conniving, deceitful, insensitive

Alignment: Neutral Evil

Likes: Money, getting money, success, getting his way, attention, recognition

Dislikes: Bad news (especially if given before any good news), giving away free money, not getting his way

Short Bio: An incredibly wealthy, successful, and eccentric businessman, Varrick lives for profit and recognition in equal amounts. To him there is no greater smell than the sweet scent of success, and no greater feeling than holding more piles of money in his hands. And his shrewd business tactics and natural charm and charisma (and ability to work a crowd) have all combined to see him attain quite a bit of his favorite thing. But as zany, eccentric, and humorous as he appears, Varrick's business has attracted some ugly rumors, ranging from Hundred-Year War era contraband to black market dealings to bribery of public officials. Obviously all of these rumors are completely unsubstantiated...but not at all disproven.
