~What Happened Last Time~
Last time on Adventures of Li Hua: Li Hua and Jiha made up. In celebration of them coming to this unknown town, there is a party to be thrown.
Gosh. It's pretty in here. This hut might be small but it had, what I call, character. It was comfy and adorable. There wasn't much in here. There was a desk with a large mirror sitting on top. A chair was under the desk. I looked to my left.
Is someone finally coming? Jiha?
Jiha walked into the hut and did a 360 turn.
"How do I look? A+ or F-?" she said as she walked toward me like a model and turned around and walked back toward a door then turned around and smiled.
"You look soooo pretty! I'll give you an A++ any day," I said with a smile as I got up and gave her a hug. That chair wasn't very soft.
Her hair was curly with a little hump. The makeup was natural, only used to add highlight and to compliment her already great features. Her dress was red, a deep red, with blue shoes. I guess they didn't give her any shoes to change into.
"Ha, I knew you would say something. I wanted to keep my shoes on. I love these shoes, plus their comfy and are the best dancing shoes I could ask for."
"Okay, ladies, you prepared for the party? It's about to start."
Jiha and I walked out of the hut and pushed the curtain back. We looked around trying to find the party.
"I'm going to take you to where it is. I can tell you don't know."
This women seemed really kind. She was a little pudgy but seemed really happy with herself and kept a smile on her face as we walked to the party's location.
A party just for us. I feel so special.
"These boys will escort you."
I looked up and saw a cute guy. He had roughly shaped brown hair. It looked like he didn't style it or anything but yet it still looked so good. His eyes were brown and he gave me the most charming smile. Talking about melting a girl's heart.
Jiha and I looked at each other and shared a smirk. I knew what she was thinking, They are so cute, We have a treat for tonight. I admit. She's right.
"Hey," he said as he held out his hand with one eyebrow up.
Is he chewing on grass or something?
"Hello, thanks for being my escort. You really didn't have too."
"It's my pleasure madam."
I smiled really big and blushed. Gosh could I look anymore like of an idiot right now.
I looked over at Jiha who was conversating with the guy escorting her. She seemed to like him. Never mind that; I knew she liked him. She looked at me and winked.
"Hello, my fellow people. Today, we have two special guests! I would like to give them a warm welcome before we start"
Everyone applaud as my escort and I came into the hut arm in arm. I smiled and waved at the people. All these friendly faces. Everyone seemed happy and seemed to be so close to each other. Back at the Northern Water Tribe, we all are cool with each other but we're not as close as these people.
Jiha and her escort walked behind us and they both were smiling huge and talking low. By the looks of how close they were and how slow they was trailing behind, I think I could say my friend was in infatuation mode. Aww, isn't that sweet? Looks like someone's got a crush.
My escort whispered in my ear saying, "I'm glad we came here together. Today must be my lucky day because I'm escorting the prettiest girl I've seen in a while."
I blushed and said, "Thank you...um... sir. May I ask what's you name?"
Loud music began to play and people began to gather on at the center of this hut. They all began to dance and sway around. Some where dancing in groups, while some was alone with their partners. Others were dancing with family. The spirit in the room was very happy and lifting. Carefree.
"We dance before we eat! Lets start this celebration right!" said my helpful doctor.
"What's your name!," I yelled
"What? I can't hear you!"
This is just my luck.
"I'm asking what's your name! You never told me your name!" I yelled again, trying to be loud enough that he could hear me above the loud, live band.
"You want to dance? Okay, let's dance," he said as he spun me onto the dance floor. We danced for a while longer until the music finally stopped.
"Okay, ladies, when you came, we could tell you were Water Wribe. Are you both Waterbenders?"
"Yes sir, we are."
"Yep, the best of our age group back home," Jiha said as she Waterbended some water out of a large pot and made it into shapes.
I joined her and started entertaining myself, changing the colors of the water and making shapes. I looked out at the people and could tell they were impressed. I looked at my cute escort and he simply gave me a wink and started to applaud, saying, "You're doing great."
"That's great, girls. I really believe that you are the best," the doctor said with a smirk. He looked paused and looked over his shoulder.
People came out with food. They started passing it out to everyone. I tried to look at people's plates but they had the food covered with grey pots on top.
A slightly young man, about his mid-20s, placed a few plates in front of me.
"Let us eat!"
Everyone started to lift up to top that was covering the food, so I did the same.
Yum! All my favorites were there. I had fish, sea prune stew, arctic hen, and blubbered seal jerky. But the food I was the most excited about was the pickled fish. That dish is a tradition in the Northern Water Tribe and my family always had some on ice.
"Since you both are from the Water Tribe we decided that is it only right to serve your tribe's food. Out of respect, and also to make you feel welcome."
"Thank you, we really appreciate this. You have a lot of my favorites on my plate right now and I don't think I could feel anymore welcome than I do right now. Thank you," I said as I bowed my head to get closer to my spoon and put a spoonful of sea prune stew in my mouth. This is so good. I must thank the chef later.
I looked at my escort again. I gotta know his name.
"You never answered my question."
"What question?," he said with one eyebrow raised.
"What's your..." just before I got out the word "name", a loud banging noise spread throughout the air. I looked around alarmed.
The doctor walked up to the center of the hut and stood on a chair, saying, "Don't be alarmed my friends, some food was dropped by my son. Of course, kids being kids, he thought to start a food fight with some other kids."
He looked at me and said "What was my what?"
"Li Hua! I gotta talk to you."
Ughh, can't everything just pause so I can ask him his name?
I put up one finger and gave the "One minute" sign.
I walked over to Jiha and said, "What?"
"Girl, that boy is so adorable. Me and him are going to go out tomorrow afternoon. I'm so excited!"
Are you kidding me?
"Jiha, we need to be on our way tomorrow morning. We can't stay here. We need to try to find our way back home. My parents, and yours for that matter, have to be worried sick," I said with a worried look on my face.
"Come on Li Li, let's stay for a while. I want to get to know him. He's so nice and sweet and..."
"Jiha! Please, we got to be on our way."
"I thought you and that guy were hitting it off."
I looked down at my feet then looked to my left. I turned around and looked at the hut in the distance. I took a deep breath and at the one moment, I felt close to nature. I blushed a little as I said, "We are, but I don't think this is worth pursuing. I mean, we are not from the same background and plus, there's no need to get to know him any further because we will be leaving tomorrow. No ifs, ands, or buts about it."
Jiha gave me an upset look as she walked away back into the hut.
I stood there for a moment and then turned around and was shocked. That cute guy that I been trying to get his name since we started talking had came out the hut and was coming toward me. What should I do? I quickly started trying to fix my dress and wished that I had a mirror so that I could do something to touch up my makeup. Okay, I need to stop freaking out, he's probably just coming over here to speak or something.
"Li Hua, you okay? I saw Jiha come back in and she looked pretty fired up. Did you two have a fight?"
"Oh no, it's nothing. I was on my way in, I just got side-tracked by how beautiful night time is."
"Yeah, it is beautiful," we both stood there for a moment then he whispered, "Li Hua..."
I looked at him and the next thing you know we kissed.
A slow meaningful kiss. The sun began to rise above our heads and fireworks started to pop behind us in the background. This seemed like a picture perfect moment. I could just stay in this moment forever and ever... If only if only...
