Chapter 2: Failed

We neared the Southern Water Tribe. As the ship sailed closer, my attendants helped me get my armor on. I then placed my helmet on my head as the ship docked. The hatch opened and my soldiers and I walked down. As we walked down, a teenage boy wearing the traditional Southern Warrior outfit with a weird ponytail came charging at me with his club. I fought him off easily. I approached the villagers.

"Where are you hiding him?" I asked. I then grabbed an elder woman.

"He'd be about this age, master of all elements?" I hinted, shoving the woman back into the crowd. A teenage girl caught her, I'm guessing that is the woman's granddaughter. No response came. Angry, I shot a blast of fire at the crowd.

"I know you're hiding him!" I shouted. I heard Warrior Boy yelling behind me and charging. I turned around just as he approached me. I ducked under his swing and hurled him forward. He threw his boomerang at me and I ducked.

"Show no fear!" a young boy shouted to him. He ran towards me with the spear. I grabbed the spear, broke it, poked Warrior Boy in the head and tossed it to the ground. All of a sudden, I got struck in the head with the boomerang. Fortunately, I had a helmet. Angry, I shot a fire dagger.

All of a sudden, I was pushed to the ground and my soldiers helped me up. A young boy with an arrow tattoo and a staff came riding on a penguin.

"Hey Katara. Hey Sokka," the boy said.

"Hi Aang. Thanks for coming," the warrior said.

I assumed a fighting stance. The boy then shot snow at me with... Airbending?!

"You're the Avatar?" I asked in shock.

"I've spent years preparing for this encounter. Training, meditating. You're just a child!" I said.

"Well, you're just a teenager," the Avatar said. I shot a few blasts of fire and he deflected them.

"If I go with you, will you promise to leave these people alone?" the boy asked. I nodded. The soldiers then took the Avatar and led him to the ship. I ordered a course for the Fire Nation. I'm going home.

On the ship, I held the boy's staff. It will be a gift for Father.

"This will make an excellent gift for my father. I suppose you won't know of fathers, being raised by monks," I said. I turned to the soldiers. "Take the Avatar to the prison hold," I ordered. I then turned to Uncle. "Take this to my quarters," I said and walked to the helm.

I was only there for three seconds when a guard came in.

"Your Majesty, the Avatar has escaped!" he said. I frowned.

I caught him taking the staff in my quarters. "Looks like I underestimated you," I said. We then fought but he defeated me. Not for long! I chased him to the helm and just as he flew away, I jumped and dragged him down. I assumed my fighting stance but then, I saw a giant flying bison coming to the ship.

"What is that?" I asked in shock. He and I fought some more and then, he got on the bison and flew away.

"Shoot them down!" I demanded. Uncle and I shot a blast of fire which the Avatar deflected, causing lots of damage on my ship.

"Dig this ship out and follow them!" I ordered. I realized that the soldiers were melting the ice that the Waterbender used on three of the soldiers.

"As soon as you're done with that," I said. I failed. However, I would not give up. I will not rest until I achieved my destiny.
