~What Happened Last Time~

Last time on Adventures of Li Hua: Li Hua is still stuck in detention. Jiha meets a new love interest.

~First Day of School cont.~

I walked into Mrs. Mao's office to hand her the 'important papers'. She took one glance at me then raised her eyebrow.

"You've been gone for quite a while. Roaming the halls, Miss Chae?"

"No ma'am, of course not. I went straight to Mr. Pho's classroom. At first he was confused about the papers I came to get, so he had to look for them, which took a while. Then we began to start talking and time just ran away from us."

"He didn't know what the important paper's were? Really? Well that's a shame."

"Least he found them. But uh... I should go to my class, I'm already late."

I turned to take a step towards the door before Mrs. Mao stopped me. "Let me write you a pass."

I went back to my 'lucky seat' and waited for her to finish writing my pass. I started to stare at the clock again and began to daydream.

"Here Li Hua."

I snapped out of my day dream, took the paper from her hand, and walked out. I strolled to my classroom down the hall. I was in no hurry to go back to be with Mrs. Lee.

When I walked into the class I caught a glimpse of Mrs. Lee in the corner of my eye watching me. She looked a little displeased with me but I didn't mind.

The heck? Why is she looking at me like that? She is so... on my black list. This is going to be a very long two months. I shrugged.

Then it came to me, I'm suppose to be moving here this summer. This will be my school. She's probably a permanent teacher and will proceed to be my teacher when school starts in the fall. UGH!

The only one that I would proudly have as my teacher is Mr. Pho. He seems like the only teacher that I'll like in this school. I think I'll start chilling in his class during breaks.

"Uhum... Li Hua? Is that not a pass in your hand."

I looked at my hand and turned around to hand her the pass.

"Stand here while I check to see if it's authentic."

Oh my freakin' gosh! Checking to see if it's authentic?' Of course it freakin' is! Why the hell would I bring a fake pass! That's dumb as heck. What the heck? I wrinkled my nose at her and let out a small sigh. Stay calm, Li Hua. Stay calm.

I stood there as she called the office to check if the pass was really written by Mrs. Mao.

"Okay, you can go to your seat now."

I squinted my eyes then rolled them. I really can not stand this lady. I need to change classes.

I walked back to my seat and smiled at Jiha inviting conversation.

"I met a boy a few minutes ago." She smiled then rested her arms on the desk, crossing them in front of her.

"A boy? Where?"

"In the hall way... when I came to get you."

"Was he cute?"

"Oh my gosh, Li Hua. He is gorgeous. I almost fainted from his charm."

I laughed a little at how school girl she seemed. "Oh really?"

"You'll have to meet him. It was like love at first sight."

I stared at her for a moment trying to figure out if she was serious or not. Of course she was dead serious. She looked like a little girl in the candy store, ohhing and awing over the candy.

Suddenly, the bell rang signaling for us to go home. Me and Jiha was walking and talking in the hallway when she began looking around mid- conversation. I turned my head slightly to view what she was looking at. A guy, who was really cute with dimples, was smiling and walking towards us.

Must be Kwan. She's right, he's like a dream.

He caught up to us and hugged Jiha. She turned a faint pinkish color that quickly faded away.

The guy wrapped his arms around her waist as she put her hand on his chest. It looked like a still from a romantic movie. She smiled as she looked into his ice blue eyes.

I cleared my throat to get their attention. Apparently they have forgotten I was standing there.

"Oh sorry Li Li. This is Kwan. Kwan, that's my bestest friend, Li Hua. We've known each other for years."

"Nice to meet you Li Hua." He held out his hand to shake mines. But I just stared at him. He retracted his hand and pushed his eyebrows together. "You don't shake hands?"

"Not with people I've just met."

"Come on Li Li. Don't be like that. He's really nice."

"You just met him a few minutes ago and you two don't even know much about each other for you to be all hugged up together."

She pulled away from him and squinted her eyes at me. "I know that, Li Hua. We were only greeting each other in our own fashion. Just give him a chance."

"I will when you two know more about each other than ya'll names."

I continued out the door and walked home alone.

I shook my head in disappoint. Jiha should be smarter than this. Boys make her so weak.

On my way to my house, which was only a few feet away from me at this point, I saw Cheung sitting on the door steps.

Ugh, why must he be here when I come home?

"What are you doing here?," I said with annoyance.

He stood up, moving towards me, "I wanted to talk."

"We have already talked. Just two days ago. Don't you remember?"

"But I don't think we solved anything."

I rolled my eyes, flipping my hair, "Yes we did. I said I forgive you."

"No, you didn't. I would remember it."

"Well... I was thinking it. I forgive you Cheung. I really do. I just don't think this could go anywhere." I began to make my way towards the door. I was done with having this conversation.

"Of course it could Li Hua. It could go very far. Just let me show you. What do you say?," he reached for my arm in a failed attempt to get me to listen to him. I jerked my arm away from his reach, taking a step away from him.

I looked in his eyes and saw no indication that he was lying or being shady. "Not right now, Cheung. I got in trouble at school today and I really don't feel up to playing any games."

"Games? No one is playing any games here. I want you to be in my life. I'll do what ever it takes to get back with you."

"Give me some time Cheung. I need to heal from this relationship. This just isn't the time to be having this discussion. I'm sorry."

"You need to heal? I need to heal too. I need to heal from this heartbreak that you've placed upon me."

I walked up the steps and to the door. I gave him one last look. "Give me some time." I walked into the house shutting the door behind me, instantly I laid myself on my bed. I just wanted to go to sleep and forget about all the events that have happened today.

~Next Day (Jiha's POV)~

When I woke, I felt super refreshed. I rolled around in my bed till I finally remembered today was a school day. I needed to get up and hurry to school.

Time to get up Jiha. Another day to spend with Kwan. I smiled to myself at the thought of Kwan. I got up and put on the cutest dress I had in my closet. I looked in the mirror and put my hair into a fancy updo to show off my strapless dress.

I really need to wake up Li Hua.

"Li Hua?"

No answer.

"Li Hua wake up!"

Still no answer.

I walked on the cold hard wood floors towards our room. I grabbed onto the door frame and peaked into the room to see if Li Hua was still in bed.

Where could she be? Is she still mad at me or something?

I ran outside frantically yelling "Li Hua! Li Hua where are you!"

"Look down."

I looked down and Li Hua was already dressed and ready.

"I was looking for you. I thought you left me."

"Why would I do that?," Li Hua said with a confused look.

"Uh... well you seemed mad at me."

"Maybe, but I wouldn't leave. Where would I go?"

"I don't know... lets just go to school."

~School Is In Session~

"Class, class. Pay attention."

I started to doze off while she was talking but I didn't want to repeat a moment like yesterday. I shook my head in an attempt to keep myself awake and began taking notes. I raised my hand when she asked questions to impress her. She still didn't seem moved but at least I was making an effort.

After a while, I finally heard the words I've been waiting for, "Alright it's break time."

Everyone rushed to the door. I began to move towards Mr. Pho's classroom before Jiha stopped me. "Where are you going?"

"Mr. Pho's."

"Oh... okay. I guess."

I waved by and made my way to Mr. Pho's. I knocked gently on the door and walked in. He smiled and showed me some art that he made back in the day. He also showed me more pieces by Cheung. They all were simply marvelous.

I smiled slightly at how passionate Cheung's work was,"I really would like to buy an artwork by Cheung."

"I can give you one."

"That would be so nice of you Mr. Pho."

"It's my pleasure, I can tell that you will take good care of the picture."

He reached in his desk and handed me one of Cheung's artworks. It was a picture of a women dressed in all white dancing in the wind like a ballerina. I thanked him bunches for it.

"I'll keep it in my desk for you. Just pick it up at the end of the day." He smiled patting my back.

"I will... uh...can I ask you something? Would you mind if I stay with you during break?"

"Of course not. You're good company. I can see why you and Cheung got along."

"How do you know we got along?" I pushed my eyebrows together slightly turning my head to the side.

"A hunch."

His response left me wondering just what that hunch was.

~ Break Time (Jiha) ~

When I walked outside I instantly looked for Cheung. I caught a glimpse of him talking to Kwan and some other guys. I walked over to him, nervous because Kwan was there, and told him we need to have a much needed conversation.... in private. He, of course, said okay and we walked to a secluded area under a tree. We took a seat and quickly got to business.

"So have you thought of a plan for Operation Hook C&L?"

"Well... I was kinda hoping you had the plan. But this is what I thought of, as of recently. She's really friendly with Mr. Pho, he's my friend older brother and he's kinda my friend also. I was thinking if I could get him to talk to her about giving me another fair shot, that should would realize that I'm not so bad. It might possibly be the push she needs."

"That's pretty good for a start. I say it's worth a shot."

"Then it's settled. I'll tell him before I leave school today. What did you come up with Jiha? What's going to be your part in this?"

"Uh... I think... I could maybe convince her that you're not that bad of a guy. If that doesn't work then we'll just all hang out."

"What do you mean?"

"I'll tell her that there is a party that consists of people from Equal City that is happening tomorrow. You and you're friends will come. So it would be me, you, and Li Hua and your friends. Sounds good?"

"Yea, that sounds fine to me. Oh and do you want me to send Kwan over here?"

I was caught of guard by the mention of Kwan, "What?"

"I know you two have something going on. It's so obvious," he chuckled a little.

"No it's not. Hush." I felt myself turning pink in the face.

"I'll make sure to tell him to come over here okay? Okay." He laughed as he made his way towards his friends. He signaled for Kwan to met me by the tree which apparently made Kwan happy.

He started to walk towards me, sending me into panic mode. I started breathing heavily and my palms began to sweat.

I just can't stand here. He'll think that I'm needy or something. I don't know. I got to get out of here.

I started to turn to walk away but Kwan caught me by my arm smiling from ear to ear.
