~What Happened Last Time~

Last time on Adventures of Li Hua: The viewers begin to see that Cheung is not what he might seem.

Oh my gosh. What the heck did I get myself into? I should've stayed away from him. What's wrong with me? I never listen to those that truly love me.

I began to sob a little. After a while, those sobs turned into a river. I was heartbroken over a guy that didn't deserve these tears. But maybe I wasn't crying over him, maybe I'm crying over the fact that I'm scared and starting to go ballistic.

I slide my back against the door till I was sitting behind the door on the floor. Someone should take a picture. I look really depressing right now, like I can be on the cover of a depression booklet; saying "You can get help now." But only if I could get help. Only if I had someone to learn on that understands me. Someone that looks past the cover and actually opens the book.

"Li... Stop that crying. I don't know what happened to you but I warned you. I told you that you should stay away from Cheung." Jiha took a seat next to me and rubbed my back, trying to comfort me.

"Please Jiha. I just want to be alone. I don't want to be told 'I told you so'. I need to find peace." I got up and walked to the only place where I could actually find such peace.

I finally arrived at the river and breathed in the refreshing smell of water. My day was really unsettling. I can't stand Jiha telling me that she warned me. I know she did it out of love or whatever, but I really don't need that at this moment.

I heard a leaf crack within close range. I quickly sprang up yelling "Who's there?"

"It's only me, Li Li."

I stared at the figure for a moment. "I told you to never talk to me again. You don't listen well."

"You're right, I don't... Jiha told me about what happened on your..." he swallowed hard and instantly became upset, " your little..." he looked away from me and down at his hands.

"My what? Date?"

"Yeah that."

"You're so immature. You couldn't even say date. What? You can't think about how another person likes me? Am I that horrible?"

"No. Li Hua... I wasn't even thinking like that. I truly wasn't. You have to believe me."

"I believe no one but myself!"

"What's wrong with you? You're not acting the same."

"Screw acting the same! I am through with the lies that I continuously get fed."

I turned my back to him and began to run far off into the distance.

As I was running I saw someone ahead of me. I started to turn the other way but I heard, "Li Hua. Please lets talk."

Cheung? Oh heck no. He's got to be joking. I refuse to even allow him the pleasure of talking to me.

I kept walking, keeping my head striaight and not looking at anything around me.

"I'm not going away till you say something."

"Choke on something!"

Silence filled the air for no words were being exchanged.

"Okay... I might have deserved that."

"Heck yeah you did!"

"Seriously, can we talk for a minute?"

"Of course not. I don't want anything to do with you."

"But Li Li..."

"Do NOT call me that! Only my true friends can call me that. And you sir? You're not my friend."

"Then what am I to you?"

"Dirt beneath my feet."

"Well, at least I'm around you all the time. That's kinda comforting to me."

"No, it's not."

"Yeah, It kinda is."

I turned around quickly and lunged on top of him, pinning him to the ground, "You listen and you listen good. I can't freaking stand you! You bother my soul. Your presence makes my skin crawl. I wish nothing good ever comes to you. Do you freaking understand? Do you?!"

"You don't mean that."

"Uh...yeah. Yeah I do mean every word of that."

His face was struck with defeat. A part of me wanted to take back everything I just said to him. But another part of me wanted to punch him in the face and... and... oh never mind. I would never stoop so low.

"I let you go Li Hua. That should count for something."

"It counts for nothing. I can't stand to even look at you."

"Yeah that's right. Whatever."

I got off of him and began to walk away.

Good job Li Hua. Handled yourself in a way that Ji Ji would be proud of.

"Get off of me! " I turned around and I saw Cheung being attacked by someone familiar.

Who the heck is that? I pondered to myself for a while, staring at his face, trying to remember. Then finally I figured out why that man was so familiar. Is that?... Is that the same guy that Cheung killed? It can't be. I saw him dump the remains outside of his house.

Cheung laid there without fighting back.

Oh come on. I know he has the strength to defend himself. Why is he doing this? I turned back around and kept walking, but after only a few steps I felt the need to turn around. I can't let him die. I won't let him die. I spun on my heels and ran full speed at the man. I knocked him off his feet and pinned him to the ground. He stared at me in shock, not expecting what had just happened.

"Don't you ever attack him like that! Or you will have to deal with me. You got that?"

I got off him and began to walk away. I looked over my shoulder to see the man still standing there.

"Did you not hear me? I said leave!" The man then scattered off and never stopped running.

"Yea, you're welcome, Cheung."

Randomly he placed his hand on my shoulder, muttering the words, "Do you still have feelings for me?"

"Of course not I'm through with the situation. You are of no interest to me. I couldn't let you be killed though."

"I think there's still some feeling there."

"Well don't."

I gave him a quick hug and ran into the woods again, till I met with the water. I jumped in and began to swim back to the house that me and Jiha have been staying at.

~Cheung ~

Jeong Jeong's hut

Thank you Li Hua.

I watched her run away from me and into the water. She looked ravishing in the moonlight. I couldn't help but stare.

"Cheung? What are you doing out here. You father told you to stay near the house for a while."

Wow, now he's stalking me.

"I know that."

"You purposely disobeyed your father?"

"That's not what I would consider it. I needed to see someone."

"Someone? Like whom, nephew?"

"Uh... Li Hua."

"Oh splendid. Is she back on our side?"

"Maybe... this family doesn't recognize maybes. Either she is or she isn't, Cheung."

"I don't know yet, Isamu. I can't be too sure."

"Yes you can. Tell me the chances of her joining the family?"

"I don't know that either."

"Cheung! You good-for-nothing. I knew you wouldn't be able to handle such mission. I told your father to give the mission to a worthy warrior but he would listen. All he kept saying is, 'I believe in my boy, Isamu and you should too.'"

I was really laid back until he starting bothering me, insulting me like an idiot.

"I am worthy. You haven't given me long enough to accomplish my mission."

"I have! I do plan to report to you father at once."

"For what?! I did nothing wrong!"

"You are not worthy Cheung. This is too much for you."

"Give me more time!"

"More time? You had enough time. Cheung, you have failed your mission and disgraced the family."

"How? I am not a disgrace to anyone! Nobody even likes us. For once in my life! I have a friend, Li Hua! She's everything I need and more!"

"What? You don't know what your saying nephew. She's nothing to this family. She nothing I tell you. All she is, is a prize. A prize that needs to be won."

"She's a person. A beautiful, smart person."

"Listen to me Cheung. You are weak. You're weak just like your brother Ringo."

"Don't talk about Ringo like that! He raised me as his own! When he was my dad, I had friends and I was happy all the time! I felt human for once. Not like I am now, I feel like I'm a monster."

I felt my hands shaking and my heart pounding.

"Ha! You weakling. Your angry huh? You want to fight me? Ha! This will be fun."

I began to turned my back to him and ran until I couldn't run anymore. Then, I finally got to my destination. I knocked on the hard green door.

"Hello Cheung. Come in. Take a seat anywhere."

I walked through the door and into the cold but welcoming kitchen. I took a seat at the table in the corner.

I looked into my uncle's cheerful face and smirked a little.

Good ole Uncle Ringo.

"What brings you here son?"

Son... I never been so happy to hear him call me that.

"I was overwhelmed at my house. Uncle Isamu is there, he just moved in today."

"Oh no, my brother's moved in to Hisko's place? Hmm..."

"He doesn't like me Ringo. You know he never did."

"Hmm... my brother is very misunderstood. He does a lot of things that might be considered questionable but I think it's out of love."

"I don't know about that dad."

"Haha, you just don't want to believe it son."

"Dad... can I stay here for a while? I just need to get away from there."

"Of course! Oh... son... I've been waiting for the day that you would return." He hugged me so tightly I could hardly breathe. When he finally let me go I could see the tears running down his face.

"Thanks dad!"

"But... I do have one rule."

Rules? Dang... can I get a break anywhere?

He continued his thought while making a cup of tea, " You must attend school."

"School? I haven't been to school since I lived with you."

"That's fine son, but I refuse to let you live here and not have the normal teenager experience."

"Okay Fine. What school am I attending then?"

"The one in Equal City."

"Okay... I guess."

"Go in your old room and get some rest. You start school tomorrow."

"Tomorrow? Why so soon?!"

"There won't be a day that goes by that you don't attend school."

"Fine... I'll go to bed then."

"Night Cheung."

"Goodnight dad."
