Avatar: The Bender's Ballad is a fanon series written by Pilgrim9.
Plot[]
The story follows the life of Kazuma, a newly declared Avatar who was born in the slums of Ba Sing Se. The world, still shocked by the mysterious death of the previous Avatar, is threatened by an ancient evil that was thought to have been destroyed by the very first Avatar incarnate.
Suddenly pushed into a life of politics and war, Kazuma finds himself with the task of saving a world that has always been cruel to him before his identity was known, expected to save noblemen who would have had him hung for brushing arms with them not so long ago. This is a tale of adventure and tragedy, of an Avatar that must recognize his own faults and decide for himself if the world is really worth saving.
Based roughly six to seven hundred years before the birth of Aang, this is my first fanfiction with a truckload of new characters and (hopefully) a good story as well.

Characters[]
Kazuma-> The current Avatar, Kazuma was orphaned at a young age, forced to live on the streets and struggling to survive. A hardy child, he was known among the slum children as "Badgermole" a reference to his earth bending abilities which surpass any of the other thieves that lurk in the dark corners of the city.
Tawna-> The previous Avatar, Tawna was born in the Southern Water Tribe, her young death was treated with suspicion at the time, considering that she had failed to master the four elements, the goal of every Avatar. While many suspect assassination or sabotage, the secret of her death was brought with her to the grave. She will arrive at certain parts of the story to give Kazuma advice, and advise him as an Avatar, the fact that she never became a fully realized Avatar herself means that her judgement may not be by any mean right, or wise even.
More characters will be added as the story progresses.
