Avatar Day of the Dead is a horror comedy parody of zombie films, particularly those of George A. Romero. It will consist of three books with about twenty chapters each. Although most of the characters from the show appear, there is little connection with the events of the animated series and Avatar Day of the Dead.

Book One- The Dawn of the Dead

In the Dawn of the Dead, the recently dead start returning to life and feeding on the flesh of the living. Zuko and Aang become trapped in a market with a doomsday prophet and his cynical brother, while Sokka, Katara, and Toph lead a group of refugees in search of shelter from the plague.

Book One Chapters

  1. First Response - Aang, Sokka, and Toph travel as part of an Earth Kingdom National Guard unit sent to investigate a mysterious illness in Gaoling. Along the way, they meet Zuko, another National Guardsman, whose aggressive tactics soon alienate him from the rest of the team. They discover the dead are coming back to life and eating the living.
  2. Escape From Gaoling - Aang and Zuko have become separated from Toph and Sokka as the undead spread across Gaoling. Aang defies Zuko's order to do "the right thing" and the pair meet Zainan and Xiang, whom they escape with. Toph and Sokka lead a group of survivors out of Gaoling.
  3. The Plague Spreads - Sokka and Toph arrive in Omashu as the evacuation party goes missing. Aang, Zuko, Zainan, and Xiang run low on supplies and are forced to land in Chin Village. Both groups are soon caught in further zombie outbreaks caused by the evacuation of Gaoling.
