Chapter 2: Promises
I knew what was going through her head: the agonizing thought of losing someone you loved. She looked like she had every emotion you could have on your face when struck with bad news.
"Korra, don't. You know you can't control it yet," June warned.
Just then, with a sudden shock, Korra had entered the Avatar State. Tenzin took Pema and ran out of the building with Bolin, leaving me to try and snap Korra out of it.
"KORRA, YOU HAVE TO STOP. IF YOU DON'T, YOU'LL DESTROY THE TEMPLE AND EVEN THE ISLAND...!!" June tries to scream over the noise of Korra's Avatar State.
Korra begins to bend the earth around her, destroying the dining hall along with it. June flees in despair, while Korra begins to ascend into the air with an air spout.
"KORRA STOP, PLEASE! THIS WON'T SOLVE ANYTHING. I KNOW IT HURTS RIGHT NOW, BUT IF YOU DON'T STOP YOU'LL DESTROY THE WHOLE ISLAND STOP....Pl...pleeass...eeee--!!" June is thrown into a wall by Korra. He gets up and begins to bend a sphere of air around him, and he begins to move toward Korra.
"KORRA, PLEASE LISTEN. I KNOW ALL THE.....ALL...--" The air begins to intensify. "I KNOW ALL THE PAIN YOU ARE FEELING...I FELT THAT WAY WHEN I LOST MY DAD...BUT ...I HAD MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS...THEY HELPED ME THROUGH IT...YOU HELPED ME THROUGH IT. I PROMISE, I'LL HELP YOU FIND HIM.. PLEASE, LET ME HELP YOU..."
Korra descends to the ground. She falls to the ground and into June's arms. "Sorry June, I don't know what to do..." Tears begin to fill Korra's face...
"I know it hurts, but we'll find him... I promise you, okay?" June comforts her.
"June, what if he's dead? I don't know if I could help myself..." Korra worries.
June tries to comfort her again. "I know, but you can't just go crazy like that, okay?" June hugs Korra.
"You scare me when you do stuff like that. Promise me you won't do anything like that again okay." June begins to cry.
"June, why are you crying...June, why are you crying...?" Korra asks again.
"I don't like seeing people in pain, let alone my best friend." June tries to smile through his tears.
"June, I promise I'll try to control it, alright?" Korra tries to reassure her friend.
"Okay, please try." June finally is able to smile.
"Korra, you destroyed the Dining Hall!" Tenzin calls from out in the distance.
June: "Uncle, it's okay. I'll pay to make sure it's fixed, okay?"
Tenzin: "June, it's not your fault; it's Korra's. But at least nothing else was destroyed."
Korra: "I'm sorry, Tenzin..."
Tenzin: "It's okay, Korra. As long as you're safe..."
June: "What about me? I'm still here, too, you know."
Tenzin: "June, are you all right?"
June: "Yes, thanks for asking. I'd better go pack so Korra and I can get going."
Korra: "June, what do you mean, 'pack?'"
June: "Well, it's not like the people who took Mako are still here. They must have fled during the night. They could be anywhere for all we know..."
Korra: "June, are you sure?"
June: "I'm sure. I've just got to get Ingy ready for the flight."
Korra: "I'm going to see Bolin to see what he remembers."
Tenzin looks at Pema with a worried look on his face.
Pema: "Well, so much for breakfast..."
Korra begins to make her way to Bolin's room.
Bolin: "Korra, you're here."
Korra: "Don't worry. June and I are going to find him. I need you to tell me everything you remember..."
Bolin: "I don't remember much, but I did see a man with a tattoo of a Phoenix on his arm."
Korra: "Is that all you can remember?"
Bolin: "Yeah... I'm sorry...can't remember anymore... Korra, please find my brother and bring him home, okay?"
Korra: "Don't worry, I will..."
