Avatar: The Last Airbender

When the war finally ended, everyone thought things would be better, that the fighting would stop and that we could all go back to peaceful lives. That wasn't the case, remnants of the Fire Nation Army were still fighting, and they simply weren't going to back down, even if their Fire Lord had been defeated. If anything that encouraged them further, made them more dangerous...more desperate.

These remnants knew they stood little chance against a fully realized Avatar, let alone the now combined armies of the Earth Kingdom and Water Tribe. Luckily for them during the final few months of the war, when the tide started to change, select Fire Nation scientists were instructed to look for "other means" of combat, to create weapons capable of matching and even beating an Avatar.

The remnants managed to find some of their research notes hidden away in destroyed Fire Nation bases and the subject of those notes provided the remnants with their chance...their chance to strike back...

Author's Note

Well here I am again, it's been a long time since I last wrote fanon and looking back I know I need to make up for lost time. Rise of an Avatar may stay incomplete for now and I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to it. Reading over it now shows me I made many mistakes. This is where Dragon Rising comes in. I consider it a fresh start, a chance to make a mark on a now very different fanon portal compared to when I last contributed to it.

However, I'm rambling, what I want to say is this: I hope you'll enjoy this fanon and I think you'll find that it is of much higher quality than my last one. Carloso - Talk 03:00, February 24, 2012 (UTC)
