Prologue

Things have changed after Avatar Korra. Every Avatar after Korra kept the world from imbalance and chaos. Exactly 1842 years after the Anti-bending Revolution (if you wanna call it that) in Republic City, the city flourished with more advanced technology. Technology was really slow over the thousand years. Years after the Revolution, there was no one to run Future Industries after Asami until recently when a Sato descendant claimed the company once again. As time went on, a powerful threat with a strong motive rose from the rubble. He believes that bending is no longer needed with the technology in Republic City and if bending no longer existed, no one would notice. He will start with the Avatar and break the reincarnation cycle. The Northern Water Tribe princess traveled to Republic City to study as a scholar and fell in love with an upper class senior of Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom descent. They eventually had a daughter that was the new Avatar. Around that time, the earth Avatar had past and the new Avatar of Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, and Fire Nation descent was born in Republic City.

"Mom, why do I have to wake up now??!!" whined Luka. She had always been home-schooled when it came to academics. When it came to bending, she traveled to the greatest masters in bending and combat, but only the basics. This is the first time Luka is actually going to school like a normal kid. Her parents are sending her to a boarding school that would help her catch up with her academics and practice bending the elements. Plus, making friends would be good for her.

"You know how prestigious the academy is," said the former Northern Water Tribe princess. The school was called Sato Academy. And the motto there is Equality of opportunity is an equal opportunity to prove unequal talents (referring to the talents of benders and non-benders alike).

To be really honest, Luka didn't care if she was meant to go to an academy or a regular school, she just wanted to live like a normal person. She also found that living as an upperclassman didn't matter because everyone in the academy are upperclassmen. Luka just wanted some way to blend into Republic City. "It's just advanced education. Other than that, it's just like the other schools," corrected Luka.

"The school has high standards and expects a lot from students." Why is my mom always like this!

"Okay! Just relax! You always take things too seriously! I'll get ready!"

When Luka got out of the shower, she saw the blue uniform that lied on her bed and realized that only girls that only waterbend wear that uniform.

"Mom, don't only girls that only waterbend wear this uniform?" It's not that she was disappointed, Luka just wanted to represent as a firebender. She loved how the adrenaline flowed through her blood as every spark of ember was created. Every time she was asked to firebend by her teachers, she had the excitement in her eyes and blood rushed throughout her body. "You're Water Tribe blood is stronger compared to Earth and Fire. You'll do fine. And remember, just because you're the Avatar, you don't need attention."

"I understand, Mom." But the real question is, how can she not get attention?

After Luka got dressed and made sure she had everything that would make her dorm feel like home, she was ready to walk out the door. She really didn't need much. Luka only needed was her favorite books, sheets, weekend clothes, her phone, her diary, her guitar, and other prized possessions.

"Luka, wait!" her parents called in unison.

"Yeah?"

"We're gonna miss you!" they yelled as they hugged their daughter tightly. This had to be the first time in ages they've hugged her like that. Her dad would always be at work as the CEO of one of the most successful companies in Republic City. His company is what supports the bending curriculum at the academy. Future Industries is what supports the academic curriculum. Even though her mother left the Northern Water Tribe to study and was no longer the princess, she had to train the new heir every week. This meant Luka was either home alone or training 24/7 for her basic bending exam in Ba Sing Se (which she passed and is taking advance (modern) training at the academy).

"I can't believe that we won't be able to see you until you graduate from the university!" exclaimed her mom.

"I can't believe it either...," said Luka.

"You're old man's gonna miss you, too. Don't you forget about us," said her dad.

"How can I forget about the people who raised me and made me the person who I am today?"

"I just don't want my little moon flower walking in the wrong path. Only generate lightning during an emergency and no hanging out with bloodbenders. We just want the best for our daughter," said her father. Her parents never knew how her training went; they just assumed that the masters taught her everything. And Luka pretended that they knew what she learned in her basic training.

"Daddy! You know I hardly mastered any of the elements. I know the dangers of bloodbending!" Luka also had a thing for acting, too. She was a dramatic person before her masters disciplined her.

"That's my girl!" he chuckled and patted her head.

"I also promise to meditate every day."

"Hey, don't be too hard on yourself! I bet you by the time you get there, you'll have at least a friend to hang out with," he assured. Uh! I really do need friends....

"I'm really going to miss you guys. I promise to visit on vacations."

"You need to go to school young lady," said her mother.

"Bye guys! I love you! I promise straight A's!" Luka yelled on her way out.

"Bye! We love you too!"

I'm ready to be normal! Luka thought as she walked into the academy and stared in awe of the enormous sign that says Welcome to Our Home Avatar!
