Plot
Edit
Over two hundred years after the events involving Avatar Aang and Team Avatar, the world has regressed into a Dark Age, and the current Avatar is dead with his successor undiscovered.
Holding back chaos and anarchy has become the job of both, The White Lotus, and the now world spanning Kyoshi Warrior Mercenary Corps; maintaining a tenuous order in a world falling to pieces.
Enter The Insuhada: An ancient society with enigmatic motives that seems to be orchestrating the collapse.
Enter Tora: A dour, and ridged young Kyoshi Warrior, who, the Insuhada have crossed at their own peril, triggering a cascade of events that will decide the fate of not only the world, but the very cycle of the Avatars.
The Climate
Edit
The world has entered a Dark Age of sorts, as forces within society collapsed standing nations and kingdoms an estimated hundred years ago. Vague records saved from the past era before the Dark Age hint at a violent, short period of war followed by a slightly longer period of anarchy before the White Lotus and the Kyoshi Warriors established a loose order over fragmented regions.
The Fire Nation: Once warring clans, now just divided families that don't speak to each other; the Fire Nation has fallen into poverty and famine, reduced to piracy and mercenary work largely, producing nothing like from ages passed.
The Water Tribes: Hauntingly quiet, and absent, some have wondered if they simply migrated deeper into the snowy wastes of their respective regions; most Waterbenders hail from the Boggy Swamp, located in the Shattered remains of the Earth Kingdom. A Water Bender from one of the tribes is a rare and unmistakable sight.
The Earth Kingdom: A cluster of relatively peaceful fiefdoms and dominions ruled by powerful Earthbending Kings and Queens, more worried about passing on their blood and keeping their throne than serving their people.

Added by DarlingDioThe Air Nomads: A flourishing people that seems to have fared better than just about everyone else; the Air Nomads and their four temples and numerous shrines that dot the face of the world act as the only pillars of culture, learning, and history. They are charged with finding the Avatar, but currently only one has maintained this duty since the death of Avatar Ulan. The Southern Air Temple.
The White Lotus: Now more of a governing body that keeps the world stable and a continuous, steady peace also; they are power that's wearing thin and seeing decline, as they are challenged repeatedly by various aggressors.
The Kyoshi Warriors: The iron fist of the White Lotus, and the most powerful military peacekeeping force in the world; only The Insuhada have seemed eager, and often successful, in challenging their might.
The Insuhada: An enigmatic shadow society that has grown powerful in the current climate. It is rumored that the society is, in fact, ancient, dating back a millennium; they went underground after being discovered, and subsequently, defeated by Avatar Yangchen.
The Characters
Edit
Tora: 15 years old and going on 30! Tora is a dour, and ridged Kyoshi Warrior of great skill externally, but internally, she is a blast furnace of turmoil, rage and self-loathing; betrayed by someone close, and bested by a powerful Waterbender in the employ of the insidious Insuhada, Tora resolves to pursue and engage her antagonists...alone.
Sangatsu: A powerful, towering Waterbender trained in techniques thought to be myth or lost to history; she is a thief, and currently, an agent of the Insuhada.
Tasha: A Kyoshi Warrior with two too many secrets.
Ashida: Tora's mentor, and a Kyoshi Corp leader with the burden of protecting those beneath her; she is the spitting image of Avatar Kyoshi of centuries passed.
Korrin: An eccentric aristocrat who owns and runs the Chit Sang Mansion in Ling Dou. Swept up into the events that transpire, Korrin has in his possession many objects of great value, one such object being an old, Fire Nation headband that once graced the brow of a young Airbender.
Monk Haadash: Not old, ancient, performing the task of finding the next Avatar in succession, a task that all but his Southern Air Temple has given up on; he is accompanied by a troupe of Airbenders and monks from his temple, one being the young and faithful Miko.
Miko: 12 and observant beyond her years, Miko is a prodigy Airbending Master who has accompanied her teacher, and hero, the venerable Monk Haadash on his quest to find the next Avatar; when first seeing Tora at Korrin's Mansion, Miko realizes they may not have found the Avatar, but that they may have found hope.
"The Man in Armor": A giant of a man, clad in black lacquered armor from head to toe; known only as "The Man in Armor", he commands a great deal of power within the ranks of the Insuhada.
Loi: A lean, tall, middle aged fisherman hailing from the swamp in the Earth Kingdom; under his gaze, he seems to see you outside of the linear flow of time, when he sees Tora he sees his last chance to redeem himself of a failing from his past.
Avatar Ulan: A legend in his own time, now dead fifteen years; his successor has not been found.
Critical Reception
Edit
