Book 2: Water Chapter 4: The Royal Lady (Mentioned Only)

Arrluk is the Water Tribe Avatar succeeding Avatar Mun Jin, and preceding before Avatar Xi Tong. Arrluk is also the Water Tribe Avatar before, Avatar Anana. Arrluk, will be a minor character in Avatar: The Legendary Ku Tei, and mentioned and maybe seen in the fanon Avatar: The Legacy of Rong Yan.

Arrluk, is the Water Tribe Avatar prior to Anana, the successor of Mun Jin, and the predecessor of Xi Tong. Arrluk, is the Water Tribe Avatar, hailing from the Southern Water Tribe, just like his future life Anana.

Early Life

Arrluk, was born into a life of poverty, with a single mother, and a blind older brother. Arrluk's father had died two years after Arrluk was tested like every other child in the Water Tribes, by the shamans of the tribes to see if the babies were the reincarnation of Avatar Mun Jin. Arrluk, was two years old when his father died in a hunting accident. His father was killed by an arctic wolf leopard. The Water Shaman, had announced the new Avatar at the New Moon Festival. Everyone in the tribe attended the festival.

The Reincarnation of Avatar Mun Jin

The rest of the tribe, had strucken a case of shock as Arrluk's name was announced. Everyone including the chief and his heir son bowed to the presence of the new Avatar. The next day, Arrluk, had left everyone and everything to train around the world to master all four elements.

Knowingly, he had already mastered waterbending, he only needed to master three, which were earthbending, firebending, and airbending. Arrluk left to the city of Han Tui to train for earthbending. With his female earthbending master, he was taught quickly but the training was hard, he mastered earthbending in as little of a year.

He then went to the Fire Nation to master firebending, he trained in Fire Fountain City. He mastered firebending and lightningbending in five years. Arrluk, moved on to airbending, and/or his final element. He traveled to the Western Air Temple, he was taught by the Council of Elders there. They were young women who thought that Avatar Arrluk, was a handsome man and would break their customs to teach a man how to airbend.

Mastering the element of air in two years, he became a master of all four elements but yet he needed to master the Avatar State to become a fully-realized Avatar. He returned to the Southern Water Tribe, and learned that his brother was kidnapped. Arrluk, had mastered the Avatar State, two months later, and went on for the search of his brother.

Blind Big Brother

After he had mastered the Avatar State, Arrluk, was furious that someone would kidnap his older brother. Who could take advantage of a blind person? He would think to himself. Arrluk went to the arctic wilds of the Southern Water Tribe continent. He found a cavern, that had a trail of smoke in the air, he finally found his brother's kidnapper.

Arrluk's rage triggered the Avatar State, as he approached the cavern. There he found his brother being bloodbended by the shaman. The man cried in terror as he saw the Avatar speaking to him, hearing the hundreds of voices echoing in his ears.

Arrluk was ready to kill the man, but his blind brother had stopped the Avatar. The white irises and pupils from his older brother's eyes had disappeared. They were blue irises, and healthy black pupils. The shaman had cured Arrluk's older brother's blindness.

For the first time, his brother was able to see his younger brother, his surroundings, and the shaman. Arrluk, was happy for the first time in such a long time. Arrluk thanked the shaman, and he brought his brother back to his tribe. Everyone was shocked at the thought that a hermit shaman was able to do the impossible, and restore a person's eyesight.

Arrluk's New Invention

At the age of 48, Arrluk had constructed a wooden board he called a "wave board". With his new wave board he invented a sport that Water Tribe folk can enjoy. They can ride the waves on top of their wave boards. As waterbenders can enhance their wave riding experience by the use of waterbending.

Arrluk's new sport had become popular in the Southern Water Tribe, and had soon reached and became popular in the Northern Water Tribe. Annually they held surfing championships between the two tribes. As Arrluk and his brother were the judges along the with Northern Water Tribe's chief.

Arrluk named this new sport, "surfing". Arrluk, would sometimes cheat through the use of the Avatar State to form waves the size of tsunamis'.

Later Life

Avatar Arrluk fell in love, with a young woman who was 35. They married, and she bore Arrluk triplets, two boys and one girl. Arrluk settled down, during Arrluk's life time there were no wars, due to his past life Avatar Mun Jin, who had ruled a great life with a "swift hand of justice".

Avatar Arrluk, had later had 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, before later dying of cardiac arrest at the age of 125.

Avatar Arrluk, was born as the reincarnation of Avatar Mun Jin. Being the Avatar he mastered all the elements and was able to bend all four elements including a sub bending type known as Lightningbending.

Avatar Arrluk, had trained and mastered the element of water when he was 14. His mother was a waterbender therefore she taught him how to master it. His mother though poor, was a master waterbender. As his grandfather was a master as well.

A portrait of Avatar Arrluk.

The Southern Water Tribe, had plenty of snow. Arrluk masted this sub type in six months.

Arrluk, trained and mastered the element of earth with his earthbending teacher who was a female. Nothing is known on her, but she taught him in her home city of Han Tui. Arrluk mastered earthbending in three years.

Arrluk, traveled to Fire Fountain City to master firebending. Firebending being the polar opposite of waterbending, Avatar Arrluk had a hard time mastering firebending. After three years he began to get a handle of it.

His teacher had mastered lightningbending, and willing taught Arrluk how to generate and bend the lightning as well. Staying an extra two years to master firebending and lightningbending was worth it.

Though his teacher was not able to teach him how to redirect lightning as the technique was not used in a very long time. The technique was ancient, and since firebenders were rarely lightningbenders, the technique was lost.

Breaking traditions, the Council of Elders of the Western Air Temple had taught Avatar Arrluk, airbending. Arrluk, mastered airbending in two years tops.

Avatar State

It was known, that Avatar Arrluk, was able to enter the Avatar State at will, and able to exit it as well. He often used it for enhanced surfing.

Avatar Rong Yan's Life

So far, nothing is known about any appearances of Avatar Arrluk, though Avatar Rong Yan and Prince Unaraq, find Arrluk's descendant in a jail cell underneath the town hall of Sichuan village. With the help of the mysterious spirit known as The Royal Lady.

Avatar Korra's Life

During the time when Avatar Korra, had lost her bending to Amon, she had returned to the Southern Water Tribe or the compound she first was in, where Katara, had tried her best to heal Korra.

To no avail, Korra had left to cry at a snowy cliff, where she thought that Tenzin had approached her. When in fact it was Avatar Aang. She stood up, as Aang was conversing with her, and then all of Korra's past lives appeared.

Arrluk was the Water Avatar, in a blue coat, with blue pants, brown boots, he had a small dark brown goatee, and had dark brown dreadlocks hanging from each side of his head. He is behind Avatar Ku Tei, and right next to Avatar Anana.

  • I thought it would be cool to make a minor character within Avatar: The Legacy of Rong Yan, spiritually related to Avatar Rong Yan.
  • I don't think Arrluk will be seen in the series, only mentioned several times. We'll see how it goes ;).
  • Arrluk is Inuit for "killer whale".
  • Arrluk is my awesome version of Avatar Kuruk. Both were awesome guys.
  • Avatar Arrluk, is famous for the inventing of surfing and the surfboard, during his time it was called a "wave board".
  • Like Kuruk, he also mastered airbending in a female air temple.
  • Arrluk, is the first Avatar with a disabled sibling.
  • I decided to add a chapter also dedicated to Arrluk in Book Two, told by his descendant, when the crew reaches Ba Sing Se. So I guess he will be seen in the series.
