Aang: Story of an Airbender
Edit
Early Years
Edit

Added by Lady LostrisAang was born to Shin and Haha at the Western Air Temple, but the married couple decided to relocate in order for Aang to participate in the Ceremony of the Four Relics. Because two airbenders, he and Aka, proved similar results, the Southern Council of Elders were unable to determine and asked Shin and Haha to stay a while longer. However, following Shin's death and Haha's unexpected flight, Monk Gyatso was made Aang's guardian. When he was 5, Aang was taken by his mentor to partake once again in the Ceremony of the Four Relics where the young airbender met Mia, Aka, and Afiko for the first time. After choosing the four relics, Aang began to bond with Mia and the two became best friends. A week later, High Monk Pasang informed Gyatso that Aang was the Avatar, oblivious to the young Airbender, and had to find a bison as soon as possible for his animal guide. Aang, however, will have to wait a year until he was able to meet his guide, a bison named Appa, who quickly took a liking to Aang after the latter fed him an apple. Oblivious to Aang, a Lion Turtle was watching him ever since the two first met.

Edit
Several years later, Aang earned his Airbending Tattoos despite not completing all 36 levels of Airbending Training. However, due to the invention of the Air Scooter, Aang managed to accomplish this task. After showing off his new tattoos, the Airbender and Appa went to practice for the Sky Bison Polo Championships with Mia watching. Later that night, Aang received a vision from the Lion Turtle, showing Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko, and Ozai. However, the next morning, Aang had forgotten about these because he was in a trance at the time. Some time after this, Aang and Appa departed to the Northern Air Temple to compete in the Sky Bison Polo Championships.
The two take an unplanned detour when poachers known as The Yamiichiba Hunters try to capture Appa. The friends are then saved by a young firebender named Kuzon, whose life dream is to see and ride a dragon with his only lead being Mt. Kikena. Because of Kuzon’s act of bravery, Aang decides to take Kuzon to the top of the mountain via Appa. The two friends searched the entire cave, reaching the end were it was revealed that Mt. Kikena housed no dragons. Hearing Appa’s roars for help, the two friends ran outside to see the Yamiichiba Hunters attempting to kidnap Appa once again, but they managed to hold them off. Aang dropped Kuzon off at the base of the mountain and continued his journey to the Sky Bison Polo Championships.
The Sky Bison Polo Championships
Edit

Added by RenatablsAang and Appa arrive at the dome just in time for his match against Azuma, from the Eastern Air Temple. After a tough match, Aang and Appa turned out to be the victors and headed to the Changing Room to rest. In the changing room, Aang was reunited with Aka, who was less than pleased to see him. The gong soon rang and Aang headed out in hopes of ending the Southern Air Temple’s losing streak. The match was tough mainly because of Aka’s desire to win and crush his opponents. Seeing that Aang had the early lead, Aka tried to disqualify the both of them, but the former managed to create the Air Scooter and not touch the ground, a major rule in Sky Bison Polo. Using his club, Aang managed to put the ball between two posts, not only winning for the temple but the world record for the most points scored in a Sky Bison Polo Match.
Discovering the Avatar
Edit
A few weeks have passed since his amazing victory at the Northern Air Temple, and Aang has been teaching his friends how to create and ride the Air Scooter. The lesson was soon interrupted when the Southern Council of Elders called him into the Council Chamber informing him of the importance of the Four Relics, revealing the Airbender was the Avatar. The Elders informed Aang that there are troubling signs of an attack from the Fire Nation, mainly the western side where Airbenders go missing the most. Aang is told to explore these locations and solve the mystery of the missing Airbenders before time runs out.
For the first time in his life, Aang doesn’t tell Mia about the secret instead entrusting the secret to Appa. Aang, not wanting to be different, decides to run away and never come back until he is ready to accept the title of the Avatar.
Journey for the Missing Airbenders
Edit

Added by Unnamed AirbenderAang and Appa make their way to forest near the city of Omashu. The guards of Omashu, however, arrest Aang for lying about being the Avatar. Aang manages to escape the guards with help from an Earthbender named Bumi who doesn’t want to live by the rules. Aang entrusts Bumi for help in locating the Airbenders where the mad genius reminds him of the Airbending tactic: Avoid and Evade.
Aang and Bumi figure out that Airbenders will avoid the locations and evade any attacks on them. The Earthbender instructs Aang to head to the South Pole and search there first. The friends eventually get lost and arrive through the sewers thanks to Bumi’s earthbending. The two head into the water to escape. Bumi later tells Aang they’ll meet again before jumping onto a platform as Aang reaches the end of a covering. Airbending, Aang manages to slice the covering and jump onto the cliff, finally reaching Appa with a mind opened to the possibilities.
A few days later, Aang and Appa arrive at the South Pole, landing in the middle of Glacier Canyon. There, the two meet Akua, a girl who has ran away to live a life full of adventure. Akua agrees to help Aang climb the top of Zen Berg, the highest glacier in the canyon, which, according to Aang, attracts Airbenders. On the journey to Zen Berg, Aang finds out Akua ran away and tries to talk her into going back, but realizes that he did the same thing. The two arrive at Zen Berg when the hailstorm starts to pick up. Aang and Akua manage to get halfway up to the top of the glacier until a blizzard hits which nearly kills them.
Luckily, a missing Airbender, Ento, saves them from the storm sheltering them in his cave. Aang wakes up first and meets Ento who tells him the story of the Air Agents. Overjoyed by his discovery, Aang tries to convince Ento to head back to the Southern Air Temple and inform the Elders about the Fire Lord’s plot but fails. Akua later wakes up and Aang takes his friend and begins descending the cave. Reaching the end, Aang is attacked by Akua’s older brother, Kelron, but things are quickly cleared up.
Akua and Kelron make up where it is revealed that the latter was on a mission to find a Fire Nation ship that had attacked them. Before Aang could mention this, a polar bear dog appears. Aang orders the siblings to leave while he fends the dog off. Ento arrives to save the day, but is injured. The polar bear dog then tries to attack Aang before she is scared off by Appa. Aang tells Ento that he’ll take him to the Southern Air Temple so he can be healed.
Disaster Strikes
Edit
Following their adventure in the South Pole, Aang, Appa, and Ento return to the Southern Air Temple where they instantly meet up with Gyatso. Ento desperately tries to tell Gyatso something but fails when his injuries kick in. Aang is then told to inform the Southern Council of Elders that he would not be able to attend the meeting. Once at the Council Chamber, Aang announces his return and informs the Council that he found a missing Airbender. The monks tell him to go to his room and await a guide to escort him to a ceremony where they can officially announce his return. While waiting, Afiko pays visit to Aang and lies through his teeth, filling the young Avatar with false information about Ento. The elder then leaves, as Mia enters the room embracing Aang in a bear hug.
After the ceremony, Aang visits Gyatso wondering if there is anything important that has happened. Gyatso declines and leads him back to his room. The following morning, Aang awakes to see a crowd surrounding the Bison Domain. The young Airbender arrives at the scene of the crime where Aka informs of his immediate transfer from the Northern Air Temple and that someone, Ento, has been killed trying to steal a bison. Aang then sees that Appa is missing and heads out to find him. Attacked by a Goat Ox, Aang struggles to fight back when Appa comes to the rescue. After returning to the temple, Mia and Aka inform him that Gyatso was stripped of his position on the Southern Council of Elders, replaced by Afiko. That night, a man tries to sneak into Aang's room to kill him, but is scared off by Appa.
Aang soon wakes up early, and notices his friends, Damu, Ko, and Jinju among others playing a game with the Air Scooter. However, when attempting to join, his friends tell him it wouldn't be fair, sending him away. Glumly, Aang heads to an Airbending Field where he spots Aka practicing complex Airbending moves. Monk Tashi and Afiko soon inform them about Advanced Airbending Classes where Afiko shows them his move, Vortex, which is too complex for Aang, but Aka masters it in a few seconds, breaking Aang's feelings even more. While playing Pai Sho with Gyatso, Monk Tashi returns demanding that Aang must continue to train, but Gyatso intervenes, sending the monk away. Gyatso then leads Aang to a secret chamber in the Temple, where Avatar Aero, the first airbending Avatar, filled it up with secrets and scrolls containing vast collections of being the Avatar. Aang is then told to continue his quest for the missing Airbenders, while Aka is told to do the same.
Around the World Again
Edit

Added by Lady LostrisAang, while preparing for his journey, meets Kira, Mia's dad, as Mia tries to tell him something. High Monk Pasang then loses the trust of his people while Afiko gains it. Aang and Appa then travel back to the Fire Nation in Mt. Mortimor where they found an almost dead Kuzon floating the water. The nomad saves him and Appa takes them to Pokena Village where they infiltrate the Yamiichiba Hunters to see if they sold Airbenders in the Black Market. The hunters, after destroying a house, tells the two that they discovered an Underground Railroad that transported illegal Air Nomads and Bardu gloats in Aang's face, saying someone was sabotaging the Southern Air Temple. The Yamiichiba Hunters then retreat, dropping a box filled with stolen and destroyed Air Nomad artifacts and pictures of airbenders with an X through them causing Aang to break into tears.
