Book 3: Fire is the title of the third season of Avatar: The Last Airbender and the sequel to Book 2: Earth. The title refers to the Avatar Cycle: Water, Earth, Fire, and Air; also, the story of Aang learning firebending is primarily focused on during this season.
The season began on September 21, 2007, with the airing of The Awakening, and ended on July 19, 2008 with Sozin's Comet, Part 1: The Phoenix King, Sozin's Comet, Part 2: The Old Masters, Sozin's Comet, Part 3: Into The Inferno, and Sozin's Comet, Part 4: Avatar Aang (all four episodes aired on the same date).
