Seeing as I'm a fan of The Legend of Korra I've decided to write a series of blog posts reviewing all the episodes. I know this is a little late but why not?
Up first. Episode one of The Legend of Korra titled Welcome to Republic City. Now in my opinion this was a pretty good episode but it was also kind of boring at the same time. Not a lot of action and it didn't really explain the start of the series very well if you know what I mean. I did like the opening scene where the men from the Order of the White Lotus come to Korra's house to investigate the claim from Korra's parents that their daughter is the Avatar, and then little Korra busts through the wall and starts earthbending, firebending, and waterbending. I also liked how the scene …

Can Asami be an equalist? Many are suggesting so. With the new episode, 'The Aftermath' coming out on May 19, everyone suspects the ally as an equalist. There is proof, such as the girl being very quick in her relationship with Mako, giving 30,000 yuans to fund for the fire ferrets. Also, when Korra agreed to join Tarrloks's task force, Asami was the only one smiling. Another piece of evidence is when Amon attacked the Wolfbats and the Fire Ferrets during the probending final, Asami and her father were nowhere to be found (or we couldn't find them in the screen of our TVs). Some people say she was an undercover equalisat, while some say she was electrocuted by the electric glove. In my opinion, I am excited to see the next episode. I hope …

Knowing that the avatar series will stop after Korra as its suppose to be short, maybe the creators or someone else who knows how to write a good plot should have new chapters for the avatar series such as make a new avatar series for a new avatar such as an earth bender who should be around ages 17-19 after Korra, who not only tries to master the other elements (but he or she has already) and not only the avatar state, but have chapters solely for other skills for example after the avatar masters all four elements he or she will try to master...book 1: metal bending, book 2: lightning bending, book 3: (i don't know the sub-skill for air), book 4: blood bending, then the opponents to the avatar (the earth incarnate) would be the spirits fr…

Here's my theory. I think Amon is someone new, however, since Korra's visions always appears when Amon does, I believe he is related to the past by being the victim of Yakone (the guy in Korra's visions). Yakone is the firebender who killed his parents and scarred his face. The reason he hates the Avatar is because Aang failed to stop Yakone from doing this because he held back, as was Aang's weakness in ATLAb. For how Amon acquired his ability to take away bending, my guess is that either Aang taught him through guilt, Amon learned it from seeing Aang performing it (because he's really smart), or it was an accident if Aang used it on Yakone and then Amon jumped in and somehow absorbed the power from Aang.

Hey guys! Just wanted to get some of your opinions on the whole Amon spiel. So do you think he:
a. Is or is related to someone from A:TLA
b. Is or is related to someone from LoK
c. Is a completely new character with no relation to anyone else
My yuans are on c, but I dont have any yuans, so ya know.
Tell me ur thoughts! :)

If anyone is interested in reading a Makorra fanfiction story, the link below will take you to my most recent story "Through Wide Open Eyes"
I used to write fanfiction, but I honestly have YET to finish a story (even though I started one years ago) pathetic...I know.
But this is the first story I actually finished, probably because it's so short. My really long one was poorly written (because I wrote it when I was 12) but I am re-writing it. I'll be bored over summer break so that will be edited and hopefully finished.
Enjoy my story. I'm going to try and figure out how to post it on the Avatar Wikia page so yeah....
Summary: After Amon had destroyed the Arena, Mako and Bolin come to live with Korra on Air Temple Island. Feelings are revealed, …

Hey everyone. This is a blog about who I think the world's strongest benders and non-benders are. I am going to break this up into various sections. One will be for characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and another will be for characters from The Legend of Korra. I will further divide the categories by element, thus creating a chart of who I believe the strongest water, earth, fire, and airbenders are. There will also be a section for non-benders. Please feel free to comment and make suggestions, as I would love to hear from you guys!
Notes: I will include various Avatars on these lists, but only on the lists for their respective native elements. (For example, I will not put Avatar Kyoshi on the list of the most powerful firebenders.) I…

Ok so the biggest thing going on rith now is "WHO IS AMON." There are so many theroies flying around like maybe he is Tarrlock since he made Korra swear she'll fight Amon head on, plus he convinced the pro bending tournament to move on and knew about Tenzin, Lin, and Korras plan to keep everything safe. But, isnt he already a bender? There's also the therory tht it could be Aang. But why would Aang do such a thing. And isnt he dead already. and if not how can Korra be an Avatar? and whats with that little smirk Katar had when she spoke about him. could it be that a new breed of benders is coming up. One where they can bend all the elements. and Aang is Amon trying to stop it. or could it be possible that Amon works for Asami. Could she be …

Hey guys soo I just want to say that was the like the best episode with action yet!!!! It was like PEW PEW BOOM BAM EXPLOSION!!!!! Sorry got a it carried away. So what surprises me is Bolin and Mako, especailly Mako. I mean when Korra went to go after Amon what did Mako say "Be Careful" thats it!!! And he didnt even say anything else!!! I mean yeah we all know that he doesnt want to do anything bad to make Asami think he is a cheater or anything but he could of at least tried to stop Korra or the wiesest idea GO AFTER HER!!!!!! HELP HER WHEN SHE NEEDS YOU!!!!! Its a good think Chief Lin was there! Speaking of Lin man did wee see her side! I was like woah! WOAH! So much in 5 minutes my eyeballs almost poped out!! Hey guys so the looks of it that episode 5 was quite a turn out. They just had to get the romance out so they dumped it all out in one episode! I mean it was great and all to know what happens to Korra and Mako and Bolin but they could of at least left some romance lingering. Of course Korra still has feelings for Mako and Mako obviously just isnt into her...he is love blind might I say? He cant see that Korra is the one for him after all he looks at Asami everyday and he just cant compare her to Korra. Sorry guys forgot to say im a Makorra shipper...this might get a bit Makorray. Lets talk about Bolin, he thinks that Korra is the one for him... but lets face it Borra shippers...I dont think he is. I mean he has all the good stuff that a g…

Some of you were around when I had the first idea back on 28 May 2011, though others of you weren't. Well, now this blog is back for a second go. So, let me be the first to say, congrats on meeting your character!
Okay, you don't really get to meet a character. Sorry. :p But, the purpose of this blog is -- what if you did? Here's the ground rules, first off:
1)If you participated in my first blog, you must choose a different character for this one. Not sure if you were around the first time? Click the link provided above and check the comments.
2)Last time, this was only ATLA characters. However, this time around, with the new series started, Legend of Korra characters are now fair game.
3)You may pick only one character. Doesn't matter from wh…

Welcome to Avatar Shippings. This is my blog about the different shippings created by fans of the shows Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Legend of Korra. My plan is to post on here every week, but I may not get the chance to post each week, so I'll make up for it by merging that one into the next week. I will try to post at the beginning of the week, and through the week you can read and comment. As for content of the blog, I will be writing about my opinions on the different shippings. Note: This blog will be my opinion on the shipping, then the goods and the bads. I will try to make it equal, and I am not trying to start shipping wars or anything. You can feel free to c…

Hey guys, I just had a thought that I thought I'd share with you all. If we look at the portraits of the previous Fire Lords, we can see that each Fire Lord has the sun behind their head. In Ozai's portrait, the sun is normal-looking, (as the portrait was done before the Day of Black Sun). In Azulon's portrait, we see that the sun appears to have a black ring around it. I believe this could represent a lunar eclipse, where the sun's light turns the moon red. (The black ring behind the sun is supposed to represent the moon). Now, if we think back, we know that under Azulon's rule, there were times where the Fire Nation tried to take down the Northern Water Tribe. Perhaps one of these attempts was during a lunar eclipse, and even though it o…

So theres some stuff ive been wondering since the last episode and i cant help but ask if anyone else is thinking the same things that i am. First off alot of people keep saying "ooh ooh tarrlok has got to be amon because of this and that and yadah yadah yadah", but personally i think that tarrlok is only WORKING with amon and heres why; tarrlok has been engaging in some pretty suspicious activity such as the information he seemingly pulled out of thin air on that equalist training ground under the book store. However, what drives me to think that is only working with amon if the fact that he has never let the extent of his suspicious action get close to breaking the trust he has among the people. For instance, when the council was about t…

Hey there, Mageddon725 here, reviewing by on behalf of the Fanon Review Squad. Now that war is over, Team Avatar can relax but when Aang finds a mysterious water scroll things change for the worse. Iroh informs about his knowledge on the Lost Scrolls, sacred scrolls that contain information about each nation. Team Avatar then head out on another journey to find the scrolls. Things are in store for them when Azula breaks out from the mental institution she was locked in and swears to rule the world with help from a mysterious man named Camu, a man who can bend the energy in the elements!
This is another after-the-war fanon, a genre quite common among authors on the fanon portal, and it is a fairly well-written piece. However, it does suffer…

So, after a week of awesomeness that included 3 days in Atlantic City, a day of boar hunting in Wilmington, and just two hours ago, a viewing of "The Avengers" (by far my new favorite superhero movie) at Imax theatres. Seeing as I had not seen "And The Winner Is..." until just 30 minutes ago, I was afraid that my awesome gland (located right behind the occipital lobe) had shorted out from the amazing week.
Well color me purple, my belly green, slap a goddamn tail on me, and call me frickin Barney. "And The Winner Is..." was just about the most exciting thing I had seen all week.
I started up the recording, wondering if it could live up to the past amazing episodes to have been released, and boys and girls, let me tell you....When a man exper…

I've never been much of a shipper really. For some reason, I just don't care for the typical presentation of romance. It almost always seems somewhat unrealistic to me, the extreme, unreasoning passion for another person that is presented as love. For me, true love is something like an extreme version of friendship, or kinship, basically something more reliant on the mind and heart than simple hormones and lustful attraction.
That said, I do enjoy pretty much any pairing that is well written, especially if it's a relationship that involves one of my favorite characters, make sense based on canon material, or is completely and utterly non-sensical. Again, it all depends on how well it is written or presented, which actually holds true for al…

Well, folks, this is Zhu Yingtai reporting on our latest episode, "And The Winner Is..." and what an episode indeed! I am sure that we all agree that this episode was absolutely amazing. To give my own personal opinion, I loved how we got to learn more about Chief Beifong's backstory and the relationship she once had with Tenzin. Although there wasn't too much dialogue from Mako and Bolin (And nothing at all from Asami, unfortunately...), the action sequences, both from pro-bending matches and the following terrorist attack by Amon and his Equalists kept me on the edge of my seat! I think Chief Lin Beifong deserves the B*d*ss of the Week Award, because boy, can she ever dish out dirt with such masterful metalbending action! She is her moth…

I, personally think that Amon is Yakone's son. I mean, doesn't it make sense? Amon's incentive is to get revenge on Aang (as he dealt with his father), by killing Korra. The unknown man in the flashback must undoubtedly be Yakone, Aang is even seen rushing towards him. What do you guys think?
-
Do you guys want to see another Avatar series after Korra. If so, what? Sound off below.
Here are some ideas I had:
- An Uncle Iroh prequel mini-series which would explore his past with the Sun Warriors, exploring the world, the siege on Ba Sing Se, and his journey into the Spirit World.
- A longer series that takes place when people bent the energy within them. This could take place as bending the elements is first being discovered.
- A TV movie that would explore the past of the Rough Rhinos and the things they have done.

This is more of a test entry than anything else really, I've never tried to write anything I thought anyone would actually read. Article comments don't really count in that regard. Which is odd, because for my first entry here I'm pretty much going to copy and paste a comment I made on the Bolin page (the entry just above this one). XD It was rather substantial, and seemed to be decently received, so I don't feel so bad subjecting you to it now. Heh.
Well, here goes nothing...
Can we kindly stop saying that Bolin is the Sokka? I believe it's rather demeaning to both characters, reducing their individual personalities to singular qualities that we can easily compare to each other. Yes, Bolin is similar to Sokka in that they are both highly am…

Let's start with Lin Beifong who FINALLY got some true blue air time. We got to see what pretty much should have been expected from the daughter of the Grandmaster of Metalbending - Lin most certainly has skill with the metal cables. There was a lot of bending in this episode but this isn't the main thing that should be highlighted about this episode though...it's history. While admittedly there wasn't much more o…

Hey, this is Minnichi trying out for the role of Chin in the wonderful AvataRPG production! This scene ended up...a lot longer than I expected lol. So sorry if it drags :X I tried to make it from Chin's point of view since he's my character of choice. Here we go!
General Chin leaned silently against one of the massive, time-worn pillars surrounding the Royal Palace. His sharp brown eyes scanned the surrounding crowd disapprovingly – or rather, returned the disapproving glares. He could already read all their thoughts flashing across their ignorant faces. They were wondering what he, of all people, was doing in a high general’s uniform…he, who fell beneath average height. There was no other reason for their disapproval.

Well, folks, time for some totally random theories/hopes that have been stuck in my head for a few days about LOK. Today's one is a bit shorter than my other thoughts. These are mostly misc. thoughts on characters and story development. Please leave any ideas that you have because I enjoy looking at them.
First off, I would like to see us venture into inner Republic City with all the skyscrapers and various urban structures. It would be cool to see them up close instead of from an aerial view. Maybe they could even go inside and explore the interior and even go to the top. The skyscrapers would be a perfect place for a epic final battle, maybe even some references to King Kong, Godzilla, or some other humorous situation. Another awesome pla…

I placed a "Makorrasami" on the Shipping page, but DC undid my edits because he deemed it "not popular" enough to warrant an entry. I am publishing the entry as a blog just so people understand what I meant by Makorrasami shipping. Enjoy. — Hasdi Bravo •
- Mako, Korra and Asami - known as Makorrasami - This three-way ship is not necessarily erotic but based on the classic "family-friendly" shipping dilemma in Archie Comics, where Korra is Betty Cooper, who is the athletic girl-next-door who love sports and cheerleading, and Asami is Veronica Lodge, who is the posh daughter of a wealthy tycoon (i.e., Hiroshi Sato), except that Korra has Veronica's fiery and stubborn personality while Asami has Betty's nice and sweet personality. Hello everyone! I am here to review the latest episode of Legend of Korra- The Spirit of Competition. This episode takes place about a month or two after the last, due to the snow and character clothing.
First off, is it possible to hate and love something at the same time? That is basically how I feel about the episode. It is full of shipping, more than what fits my taste. Yet, I found the date between Korra and Bolin really cute, and I absolutely loved the probending match and Tahno.
Okay, let's start with the shipping as it seems to be the main thing going on in the show. Now, the amount of shipping has apparantly annoyed many people (including me at first). However, what they ( and me at the time) don't/didn't realize is that they are te…

I've never written a blog post before so cut me some slack.
So personally, I loved "The Spirit of Competition". I thought it was a light-hearted comedic episode that took our minds away from the darkness that has been brought upon by Amon. I enjoy romantic pairings and development within both Avatar: the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. I will admit, I am a shipper, and in the original Avatar, I did prefer Zutara (despite how non-canon it was). In "The Spirit of Competition" I was so pleased to see romantic development between Korra and Mako, and Korra and Bolin.
As I write this, I'm rewatching (for like the eleventy-twelfth time) the episode, and noting so many elements that obviously have pissed a majority of the Legend of Korra fan…

All the characters in the Avatar: The Last Airbender series are all splendid and, even though may not appear frequently, play a large rold and contribute to the storyline greatly. I have many characters that I personally prefer to others. For instance, Katura is a wonderful character and her personality is perfect. I wouldn't want her any different. My favorite character, though, is Zuko! Zuko is my favorite because even though he had a troubled past and only knew of hate, he became allies with Aang and helped restore peace. Also, he would be so hot if he was a real guy. Although, at first I though he was a jerk. When i heard of his troubled past, though, I understood him and felt sorry. I especially began to like him when he lost the pon…

So first thing to address would probably be the relationship between Mako and Asami. Now I'll be the first to admit, as soon as screencaps were leaked on Tumblr from episode four, I was very unhappy. There have been five episodes of the Legend of Korra that have aired. So far, I've seriously enjoyed it. I find Korra to be an interesting protagonist and a good contrast to Aang, the supporting cast is being interesting (and I'm looking forward to seeing them developed more in later episodes), the action has been decent, and the villain Amon is very intimidating and mysterious. And that brings us to the subject of this blog. I'm sure I'm not the first person to bring this up but I can't help but wonder...Who is Amon? Thus far we know he's obviously a non-bender. He claims that he lost his family to benders but it isn't clear if he was telling the truth or if he was trying to generate sympathy. We know he knows energy bending. But in truth…

I’ve been observing quite a few complaints that “The Spirit of Competition” seemed to be entirely based on shipping. I’ve seen fears that this is turning into Twilight (or something similarly empty-minded), concern that the rest of the series will focus on relationships, accusations that this episode was solely a vapid attempt to please the rabid fangirls, threats to abandon The Legend of Korra altogether. Here are my thoughts on the matter:
Honestly, I didn't feel like this episode was half bad. Sure, it was romance-heavy, but to all those complaining that it's not like A:LTA, you have to remember that this is a whole other show. Bryke put in some very significant differences on purpose. These teens are much older than Katara and Aang, they…
