The Super Bowl ad, due to be shown on February 9, has arrived online. UGO posted the 30-second trailer, and it is now available on Avatar Wiki. Shown on this article and in various other places on Avatar Wiki, the trailer features an abundance of action, with bending battles and larger panoramas. The Avatar State has been shown for the first time. The response to the ad so far has been overwhelmingly positive.

One concern stated by some fans is that Appa appears to be missing from the trailer; however, UGO believes, and they are almost certainly correct, that Appa is lurking in the background. The trailer certainly still leaves plenty of gaps in our knowledge of what the film will be like - but of course, they will be revealed in due course. …

According to Advertising Age, Paramount Pictures has purchased ad time during this year’s Super Bowl for The Last Airbender. Paramount also bought time for their other summer tent-pole film, Iron Man 2, as well as Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island. Last year’s Super Bowl pulled in an impressive 97 million viewers. That is a huge amount of exposure of Airbender if the ratings this year are the same. The commercial will likely only be between 30 and 35 seconds long, and will air sometime during the first or second quarter. Super Bowl XLIV will air February 7th on CBS. The Super Bowl spot has not come online yet.

Empire Magazine in their latest issue included some new photos from the set of the upcoming film adaptation The Last Airbender. Respectively, they show Aang on set, Shyamlan beside some of the weapons props used in filming, and a screenshot of Aang preparing to face off with a group of combatants, probably of the Fire Nation. The third in particular is of interest because along with previous shots and the teaser trailer, it provides a good indication of what the film will feel like.

The three photos are posted below for reference, though they may be of a functional quality at best. Anyone is welcome to upload better versions of these pictures.
