First up from Bryan on Tumblr
We have our first look at Book 3 through this Storyboard of Asami by Ryu Ki-Hyun
The second piece of news is that we have a release date for The Search Part 3, October 30th in comic stores, meaning that the normal book store date AKA the date that will be on Amazon will be November 12th.
Now the big news from Dark Horse here is that we now have a description of Part 3.
- Avatar Aang travels to the spirit world to parley with an ancient power, bringing Fire Lord Zuko ever closer to discovering the truth about his mother’s fate—and his own past.

According to a new tumblr post by Grey Delisle, Korra is probably coming in the summer. It's possible that she wasn't supposed to release this information (as the message is kind of mysterious), but has kindly agreed to release it nonetheless!
To me, this is very exciting because I was honestly expecting a date in more around fall.
In other news (credit to for finding this), the Track Team has tweeted that some exciting news is coming soon. Which, may be a LoK soundtrack! It is well-known that the Avatar & Korra fandom has been pushing and pushing for a soundtrack, so this may mean that we are receiving what we want! However, this could be something relating to Kung Fu Panda, or even another project (which will be very exciting nonetheless—…Read more >

At a Nick Animation press event, some news more news was released about various nickelodeon animated shows including The Legend of Korra.
Unfortunately, nothing much was released save for that the date was coming later this year, and an exclusive clip (I'm hoping somebody will upload it somewhere, if anybody finds it please link in the comments!)
While this isn't much news, keep in mind that the last time we got a year date it wasn't actually so far away from the actual date. Even so, "later this year" could even still refer to as late as next fall, or even winter. Still, it's nice to know it's coming this year!

As we speak, sound effects are currently being implemented into the animation sequences for Book 2. This is known as the SPOTTING SESSION.
Let's discuss a spotting session. So, Bryke meets with the musical minds (Track Team) and they watch the show and talk about what music overall is good for Korra. Like a main theme. Then, they go scene-by-scene and see which music fits that part. Here's the catch: the composer usually watches the final cut of animation in order to understand what music should be implemented. I say usually for a reason. Sometimes, a rough cut of the animation is shown if a final cut is unavailable.
If a final cut of each episode is being shown during these spotting session, that means Book 2 is close. If a rough cut is b…Read more >
Nick DVD Twitter
Nick DVD has tweeted something "legendary" coming tomorrow. Could they be releasing something related to Book Two - or is it just confirmation of this piece of news that the DVD/Bluray release date for Book One of LoK has been moved to up to 9 July instead of the 16th?
Nevertheless, it's something that bears watching for tomorrow.
UPDATE, 16:35 EDT: The "tomorrow" tweet has been deleted from the account; which seems to make it more likely that this news may be nothing more than confirming the earlier DVD release date.Read more >
