Let's face it, new users work for badges, and new users never edit transcripts. However, we al try to make them edit transcripts. I would like to propose that we create Transcript badges. These work similar to the edit badges, except only for Transcripts. They are as easy to create as the click of a button (seriously) and are no effort at all. I hope I'm not overstepping the line by commenting here, but aren't most transcripts more or less set in stone already, seeing as they would have to be verbatim? AanGyatso (wallcontribs) 15:05, June 13, 2013 (UTC)
There is still a lot of scene elaboration needing work on them, and they are far from perfect, and IK that AW:TT is always looking for help. :) Srijay KTechFilmer 15:06, June 13, 2013 (UTC)
I wholeheartedly oppose. It's bad enough that some people's sole motivation for editing is to get badges; we don't need to nor should encourage and foster that behavior. "New users" will get badges for editing on transcripts as on any other page, regardless. ― Thailog 15:47, June 13, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, but this will redirect their attention from the main portal, to the transcript portal which is in need of work. I would like to note something, I am aware, as LL told me before, even she was a badge editor when she joined, and eventually got bored of it, but if it weren't for badges, she might have not been here today. Hoho, hold up there before you make such general claims, TF. I was a badge editor in the sense that I came back for the consecutive edits bade, which is something completely different than solely editing for badges. So really, the point of making such a false conclusion was? If anything, I would be the worst example to use for your little venture to get a transcript badge, cause I as -to use your words and hypothesis- "a new user who only would go where the badges would tell me to go" started out editing on the transcripts.

I wholeheartedly agree with Thailog in his opposition of this. It is unnecessary since editing on the transcripts will already get people a +1 on the editing badge. No need to cater for egos.

@AanGyatso: You are not overstepping any lines by commenting on a War Room discussion :-) As for the transcripts, even though they may already have all the lines, they are still severely lacking in scene descriptions, so that is what still needs to be worked on. Ah, then, sorry about my mistake, Srijay KTechFilmer 15:59, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

glad to see you're back tech :) unfortunately, i too oppose this motion - like LL and thailog said, it encourages badge editing and users already get regular badge points for editing transcript articles.Intelligence4 (wallcontribs)

I agree with those in opposing, there's no need to add an additional badge incentive solely for transcripts; they're articles all the same and are fine just counting in the regular article badges. PSUAvatar14 Want to have a word? Katarasprite1Ty Lee KW 16:10, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

With all due respect, this isn't a very good idea. I oppose this motion as well. XIII 00:31, June 15, 2013 (UTC)
