- The system of dates has been changed to a BSC (Years Before Sozin's Comet) and ASC (Years After Sozin's Comet) format; that is, dates are calculated from the start of The War. This system is currently being implemented on all pages. - 31 December 2008

- Nicktoons Network will be airing a "Warriors v.s. Benders" marathon this weekend. - 6 March 2009
- Controversy has broken out in the Avatar fan community over casting choices for the film The Last Airbender. Many are angered by the casting choices for the leads and distancing of the film from its Asian influences, citing racism against Asians as the primary reason. A letter-writing campaign, calling itself Aang Ain't White, has begun. - 24 February 2009
- Jessica Jade Andres has been cast as Suki in The Last Airbender. - 17 February 2009
- Dev Patel has been cast as Zuko in The Last Airbender, due to Jesse McCartney's difficult touring schedule. - 15 February 2009

- Entertainment Weekly has announced the cast for M. Night Shyamalan’s live-action adaptation of The Last Airbender. The youthful cast includes Karate star Noah Ringer playing Aang, Jackson Rathbone (Twilight) playing Sokka, Nicola Peltz (Deck the Halls) playing Sokka’s fourteen-year-old sister Katara, and Pop/R&B singer Jesse McCartney playing the Fire Nation’s exiled prince, Zuko. - Avatar: The Complete Book 3 Collection, containing all 21 episodes of Book 3: Fire, is now available on DVD. - 16 September, 2008
- Avatar: The Last Airbender ended its three year run of original episodes with the two hour series finale for the show. Fans have come together on forums, in chat rooms, and even in person to share the experience. Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko were at the San Diego Comic Con and hosted an Avatar panel where they were asked about any other Avatar projects in the works. In any event, it's been a wonderful ride and we have much to thank Mike, Bryan, the show staff, and Nick for. The show may be over, but both the fandom and the Avatar universe go on. Here's hoping the next projects will be as good as or even better than the first! - 20 July, 2008
- There have been two interviews with M. Night Shyamalan about his “The Last Airbender” live action trilogy, the first part of which will be released on 2 July, 2010 (see Interview 1 and Interview 2). In them, he says that pre-production is being wrapped up and that there will be a lot of CGI sequences in it. M. Night Shyamalan has also stated in a press release that his ”The Last Airbender” movies could be the next Star Wars, and it would be hard to stay with a PG or PG-13 rating, as he is used to his films being rated R. - 1 June, 2008
- To people looking forward to buying the DVD Book 3 Volume 4, it's coming out on the 29th July 2008! YAY! - 29 May 2008
- It has been confirmed by many news sources and Nickelodeon that Avatar: The Last Airbender will return to finish off Book 3 on July 14, 2008. (USA) - 27 May 2008
