Fanon Image Edit

I'm not sure if using other author's picture of his fanon is allowed as it used here. The creator of that page is using Dudewaldo4's "Past, Present, and Future" image. Oh, and also, the page is uncategorized. Dcasawaang1 (talk) 20:08, October 30, 2011 (UTC)

I would say no, since its a picture used solely for another fanon (their logo) and even has the "Past, Present, and Future" on it. If Airbender123 gets Dudewaldo's permission, they can put it back.

Restoring? Edit

Can this be restored? (I canIt was deleted for not being improved, but it still has a chapter out. It seems a bit silly to keep the main page deleted while the chapter is still around. Now that the Fanonbenders are online again, they can improve it, and if it is unimprovable, it can at least sit in the author's user space for those to see who want to do so. Please delete these Edit

Just suggesting a little housekeeping here.

These images (one, two, three, four) are only used on category pages. We don't keep images around just for category pages last I checked, same is true for if a picture was on a template page.

One picture is on a fanon page though, but the page is more or less a straight copy from the category. It should be deleted too, as it seems to only be a test page/etc. Hm, I noticed there's actually a whole host of such fanon pages. Fanon:Bending groups a lot together. The interesting part is that some of the pages it links to are straight-copies from a past version of canon, and have broken links/etc in them...I'm leaning toward just deleting them, as they aren't really to anything. However; I'm not pushing for it. But just clean up these images (and maybe weed out pages or at least consider a way to clean that up, since it's apparently owned by the Fanon side of the wiki and not individual authors). I deleted the four files, as well as the Earth Kingdom page and a similar page I found on the Water Tribe with not much information. I left the Fire Nation one as well as the Bending page you mentioned for now. Those are free-add articles that focus on canon concepts, but anyone can edit them in any way, including adding non-canon information. They haven't been used much lately and may seem like outdated canon articles. They're sort of a remnant from when the fanon portal/fanon wiki was a different place and we don't really have a position on them at the moment. Thanks. Just getting that out there to consider that point. "Free-add" articles are articles that are more or less owned by the Fanon side of Avatar Wiki. So; yeah, if such articles will remain, maybe consider how they should be handled for some policy over them. Otherwise they just fall behind when changes are made and end up broken or outdated. This article - I had first thought meant nothing in relation to Avatar. But I see it is in relation to a story the author is writing that is Avatar based. Creating a Fanon Edit

HI, I wasn't really sure where to put this, but this seems as good a place as any. I'm trying to create a Fanon, but I'm having trouble understanding the 'Creating a Fanon Helpful Guide'. I can't find the editing tips that it says should be in the editing section and I'm not sure how to do the 'Content' list, either. First off, the content list is created automatically when you have a number of headers. I'm not sure what the standard is, I think three or four. There's no code for it. To follow a page, simply click the "follow" button on the lower left-hand corner of the screen. As for promoting a fanon - getting a large number of readers generally takes some time. Writing a blog about it is generally a good start. You can also ask the Fanon Review Squad for a review. That helps get the word out. If you participate in wiki discussions and have a link to your fanon in your signature, that can help. Ultimately, getting a lot of readers doesn't happen over night, but if you believe your story is good enough and you keep it up, I bet it will be appreciated :) --AvatarRokus Ghost (talk • Energy Saga) 05:29, January 12, 2012 (UTC)

Sorting change Edit

Recently, Śmierdziel has been changing the sorts on his fanon characters, whether by modifying the spelling without redirecting the page, or flipping the names around so that the sort is identified on a surname, given name basis. He's amassing a great deal of categorical edits in a small period of time. Possible badge editing?
