My theory on why the avatar's reappear at certain ages (like when roku comes back when he's an old man while kyoshi comes back much younger) is that they are shown at the last moment in which they used their avatar state. Example, roku was an old man when he went into the avatar state to fight that volcano then died shorty after. Kyoshi, despite being as old as she was when she died, may not have had to use the avatar state since defeating chin. The avatar state is something I'm sure a well disciplined avatar will not use willy-nilly. I don't know, it's just a theory. Going with that theory I believe we'll see Aang at the age we see him in the flashback as he is shown in the avatar state fighting Yukone whenever Korra talks to him.

I think it may be because when I saw the word suspect, it triggered my thoughts of thrillers and gave it a very mysterious feel, I don't know, I'm kinda weird anyway. Look up some of Alfred Hitchcock's methods in film-making (nothing inappropriate) because I did and it kinda gave me some ideas on how the episode could turn out. And for "Voice in the Night," I can agree with the thriller title for it. I will have to look that fanmade trailer as well.

Consider this:

Assume Yakone is Amon's father. Yakone is evil. As mentioned by Tarrlok, Aang didn't hesitate to deal with him. It's implied Aang kills Yakone (or at least it's possible he did kill him if he's evil).

Aang kills Yakone with firebending. Innocent child Amon gets in the way like kids do and receives unintentional burn. Amon says parents are killed by firebender. Firebender is Aang.

I don't fully believe this to be the truth, but I AM convinced there is glue between Amon and Yakone, and once Korra starts talking to Aang, there will be a LOT of backstory.

Now, like I said, I'm not convinced this is how it is. This is merely a theory I'm not religiously following but want to give to people if only so they will think something other than "Amon is Aang!" I fully accept Amon could be his own entity unrelated to anyone, but the flashbacks Korra have seem almost triggered by Amon, and the connection to Yakone leave a LOT of possibilities for how Amon could have become an energybender depending on Aang's encounters with Yakone.

Also, I do believe they will give Amon a damn good reason to be able to take people's bending away, not just a "he's Amon, and he can". They will make some connection to the world of Avatar to explain this, otherwise it will be a betrayal to the audience.

As Amon finished his speech and declared the start of the equality revolution to all, the [[Equalist airship]] lowered metal cabled down into the arena to hoist all the Equalists out of there. The Lieutenant got on one of these cables together with another fighter. However, as they ascended, Korra, with the help of [[Lin Beifong]] launched a counter attack and knocked the Lieutenant and the other Equalist off the metal cable and onto the arena's roof.
